Man, what a concussion of a game. 12-6, all field goals. And of course the damn Whiners lose. Haunting us from the grave.

Thought Geno set record for game winning drives
There's a game-winning drive in every game. Unless there's some sort of BS definition of what is and isn't a game-winning drive. We all watch Geno every week. He might get it done, he might not. Lately, he hasn't cost us.
No telling about this Sunday.

A game-winning drive (GWD) in football is when an offensive team scores in the fourth quarter or overtime to put themselves ahead for the final time. The scoring play must be the result of an offensive drive, and the team must be tied or down by one score. A team can have a GWD without a 4th quarter comeback (4QC), which is when a team scores while trailing in the fourth quarter or overtime.
When they beat the 49ers
On the game-winning drive, Smith completed seven of eight passes for 54 yards and added 29 rush yards, including the 13-yard score. It marked Smith's seventh game-winning drive since 2023, the most in the NFL. The QB's sixth fourth-quarter comeback is also the most in the league since 2023.

That's pretty wild, seems the 49ers have gone in the toilet
San Francisco 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan revealed Thursday night that veteran linebacker De'Vondre Campbell walked off the sidelines in the third quarter of their 12–6 loss to the Los Angeles Rams at Levi's Stadium.

Campbell, the veteran linebacker who started 12 games this year, told his coach he "didn't want to play today" before walking to the locker room in the middle of the game.

Shanahan said he wanted Campbell to go in during the third quarter for Dre Greenlaw, but the linebacker refused. Asked whether the team would now cut Campbell, Shanahan said they would "figure something out" and told reporters they didn't need to talk about him anymore.

When he cost us though, it was big. That Rams loss is looming very large right now. As well as having no clue how to play football when the Giants came to town.

2 picks in the loss to the Niners, which looks far less excusable now than it used to, and 3 picks in an OT loss to the Rams? You can't turn it over five times as a QB in any two games, but two games in Division? We could have put this division away with better QB play. Imagine being undefeated in the Division right now, owning a 2 or 3 game lead on the Rams, and having 10 or 11 Wins?

Sure, if they had a better QB they could have had more wins. But isn't it also true that a better offensive line would have generated more wins? How much of it is entirely on Geno and how much is the synergy of the entire team? What just happened, the team in general played well, particularly the offensive line and Geno had zero turnovers.

For me it's the cost involved, and the risk. Is finding another QB the primary issue to deal with now? Whats it going to cost and what are the odds of it working? Look at the 49ers, they have purdy as a gift from God, after wasting how much drafting that stiff? And how about the Broncos, wasn't that the thinking that drove them to trade for RW? Geno is a top third QB isn't he? What are you willing to gamble trying to improve on that?

Agreed. Win as a team, lose as a team. And lots of teams get burned at the QB position. Might make more sense to give Howell an in-house shot. That said, they obviously believe that Geno is their best option right now.
