Re: Thread for draft simulations:
Wow, the simulator has a list of needs. That draft doesn't feel like it hit many of them.
I am excited for it to get closer. They add scouting profiles to more of the players. I almost took a WR in one spot, then read the profile and the dude was tiny. My first instinct was the next Lockett...then I started thinking it's OK to be the next Tyler and maybe be bigger!

Draftbuzz is a good website to go to for scouting reports, lots of information there.

Re: Thread for draft simulations:
I don't remember hearing much about this guy, but I felt it was a good value pick.
I got Slackman over thirty spots below his projection, and my last pick's name is literally Power!Le'Veon Moss
RB
Texas A&M
Height: 6 - 0 |
Weight: 216 lbs |
RAS: N/A
In 2024, Le'Veon Moss showcased his best yet, building on last season's flashes. At 6'0" and 215 pounds, he combines ideal size with impressive speed. His quick first step and patient approach at the line pair seamlessly with sharp vision and top-end speed, making him a future draft standout. Moss’s game offers scheme versatility and untapped potential, hinting at even greater heights ahead. An injury hampered his production down the stretch, but can be a feature back in the right system.

If Banks is available you've got to take him. Plug him in at LG and he can cover LT if Cross gets hurt.

Re: Thread for draft simulations:
The areas of greatest need seem to be OG and TE. Assuming Lockett is cut there will be depth issues with ILB, WR, and DL. But if you can get a top OL or TE at 18 i would think you have to grab one.

Re: Thread for draft simulations:
The simulator lists these as "team needs" for Seattle...
Team Needs: EDGE, QB, S, OT, OG
So we're not good with Nwosu/Mafe/Hall at Edge? And Love/Bryant/Jenkins at Safety? And Cross/Lucas/Fant at OT? Not to mention an above avg QB getting below market value compensation (yeah, just my opinion)? Sure, they could easily improve depth at those positions, but unless Lucas is done which of the starters at those positions are they going to upgrade on significantly with the 18th pick?
On the other hand, with it being likely the Seahawks will cut Noah Fant to save $9m and not re-sign Pharaoh Brown, how the hell is TE not a glaring need unless you think AJ Barner is on the cusp of stardom? And at least one of the top two tight ends in this draft is likely to be there at the 18th pick.
Then there is the Guard situation. We saw again last year that taking one early in the middle rounds (3,4,5) isn't likely to get you a starting caliber OG in the NFL these days. In fact, the majority of draft picks that will become above avg starting guards in the league probably played OT in college and will get drafted in the first two rounds. Unless you want another Bradford or Haynes that looks utterly lost in pass protection because they lack the quickness and balance to deal with blitzing LBs and Edge rushers stunting inside. They probably played entire games in college without seeing any of that. So either you grab an OT like Kelvin Banks or Will Campbell and convert them to OG or you draft someone that really stood out as elite at the position like Tyler Booker.
As far as addressing depth, i would think ILB would be a top priority unless you are happy with Drake Thomas and Josh Ross who have 27 career tackles between them. And how about WR with Lockett all but done here? I guess you would have to really want see a lot more Bobo, and Young, and White. Lastly, there is CB where you have Josh Jobe, Artie Burns Tre Brown and Nehemiah Pritchett competing for one starting spot and backing up the injury prone Woolen at another. Then there's the situation at Center and Nose Tackle.
Here is a sensible ranking of the Seahawks's needs going into the draft and FA signing period...
OG, TE, ILB, DT, C, CB, WR, OT, Edge, S, QB

Because of this, JS will draft a RB with the 1st round pick

Re: Thread for draft simulations:
Guards from Bama and Georgia and a Center from Texas? Sign me up...even if I have no clue what the scouting report is on those three! Don't mind your Texas pass catching duo or the TE from Oregon either. I'd walk away from that one feeling pretty good.
