I'm tired of watching a team that has no chance of going all the way year after year. I don't care that they win more games than they lose because they never are able to take the next step. I would have no problem with clearing some cap space and sucking for a couple years so that we can get some impact players in the draft, because the odds of finding a QB better than Geno with a 16-20ish type pick is negligible.

Agreed. And it might be what it takes. As I’ve said, this team isn’t winning football games playing offense the way MacDonald wants. They’ll have to retool.

“I just think there’s too much there,” Jeremiah said when asked about the idea of a rebuild. “Like, there’s too much to tear down to go all the way to the bottom. I don’t think they’re capable of going all the way to the bottom, and I don’t think they have any interest in doing that.”

As Jeremiah mentioned, the Seahawks have a strong core of players to build around.

For instance, Seattle has 12 players who finished among the top 30% of their respective positions in Pro Football Focus grading: quarterback Geno Smith; running backs Kenneth Walker III and Zach Charbonnet; wide receivers Jaxon Smith-Njigba and DK Metcalf; left tackle Charles Cross; defensive linemen Leonard Williams and Jarran Reed; edge rusher Boye Mafe; cornerback Devon Witherspoon; and safeties Julian Love and Coby Bryant.

In other words, from PFF’s view, roughly half of the Seahawks’ 2024 starters performed among the top one-third of players across the league at their respective positions.

This is interesting, so smith feels they are on the verge of hiring Fraley but there's a hangup. He thinks they want to hire an additional passing game coordinator to share the play calling, call the pass plays. Thinks they are squabbling over who this other guy would be.

With other coordinator openings quickly being vouched for around the league, including the Bears, Lions, and Jets all being linked to other candidates, signs continue to point towards the Seahawks linking up with Lions offensive line coach Hank Fraley. But a deal does not appear to be imminent either, in large part due to indications that the front office wants to pair him with a seasoned play caller who serves as the pass game coordinator.


That potential arrangement may be leading to a hitch in the negotiation process, as Fraley already has identified a number of pass game coordinator candidates that he believes would be the best fit to work with him and Seattle likely has a list of its own candidates.

How would that work? What if Fraley wants to call a run play and the other guy wants to call a pass? Do they play rock scissors paper to decide on it? I would agree, it doesn't seem like a good idea.

I heard that piece with Jeremiah. Very interesting. The problem is? The pieces they are missing are damn important. Hard to win Championships with a dogshit O Line and turnover prone QB.

Shocking that he wasn't super thrilled to come here were the expectation is to take dogshit (O Line) and create a gourmet meal with it. Lions make him "run game coordinator", and he perceives that to be better than an OC here.

They are arrogant. Thought they could offer Farley some bullshit run game coordinator title and he’d jump ship.

Why would he leave knowing if he can’t make that fucking run game work they’ll fire him in a year. I’m telling you, no one that isn’t taking a big step up or recently fired is taking this gig. They’ll probably end up with Slowick, and a bad O Line cost him his job in Houston. He might pass as well!

So? Kubiwk, who in his time as a play caller has been in the bottom third of the league in percentage of run plays, so that’ll be a bad fit too!

Could be I guess, my feeling was they aren't having trouble finding someone to take the job they are having trouble making up their minds, they don't seem decisive. I think Fraley is interested, he does two interviews, but it just drags on forever
