Re: New OC thread
Maybe they could buy out the contract of Army's OC since he is probably the nation's leading expert on dialing up run plays.

Thought it was the mariners with the fun meter or whatever

They offered him the position and he declined it.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 6:40 pmCould be I guess, my feeling was they aren't having trouble finding someone to take the job they are having trouble making up their minds, they don't seem decisive. I think Fraley is interested, he does two interviews, but it just drags on forever

I don't know if they did, they were supposedly discussing an arrangement where he be doing part of it and trying to figure out who might do the other part. I don't know if it had gotten to an actual offer. I'm gonna assume he was interested or he wouldn't have bothered with the two interviewsD-train wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 8:33 pmThey offered him the position and he declined it.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 6:40 pmCould be I guess, my feeling was they aren't having trouble finding someone to take the job they are having trouble making up their minds, they don't seem decisive. I've been saying a second interview would mean they had decided on a guy. So now they have given three second interviews and don't seem to have gotten anywhere. Now there's talk of waiting until the playoffs are over. Is there some guy they are waiting to interview? They've given first interviews, they've given second interviews, what do they have left to do?

So here's some names that could become available after championship weekend if that's what they are waiting for now

They interviewed Adam Stenavich packers OC, he doesn't call plays so giving him those duties would allow them to hire him away from the packers

Again, it’s only going to be someone that is stepping up. No one else is taking this job. Fraley’s wife even tweeted about it being close, but Detroit is home. They offered him a pathetic title and expected him to jump. More arrogance from a Seattle team that should be feeling chippy, to privaliged. Seems to be a theme for pro sports around here. Then they’ll bitch because the stadium is half full of the other team’s fans.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2025 4:25 pmThey interviewed Adam Stenavich packers OC, he doesn't call plays so giving him those duties would allow them to hire him away from the packers
Last year the excuse was they had not enough time. Seriously? Why? Do you need to fire your head coach in week fifteen to have enough time to fill the spot? They fired Grubb on Black Monday in the NFL, so what gives now? Too much time?
You don’t shit can the guy that did what Grubb did with what Grubb had and expect others to line up for the opportunity to have their ass be the one blamed next. Maybe why Edgar is sometimes reluctant to come coach hitting here?
Same shit, different sport. Fire the OC or Hitting Coach, do nothing else different, then do it again.

It was close enough that his wife even tweeted that it was a tough decision. While I disagreed with the Grubb firing, to act like we are an incompetent franchise is just dumb. We are one of the most successful teams by record the last decade plusMichael K. wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2025 5:31 pmAgain, it’s only going to be someone that is stepping up.
