Just sorta interesting to me how these guys are supposed to be a better fit in kubiaks offense. Read the same about HaynesThis is not to say that Oluwatimi will suddenly turn into a Pro Bowler, but, according to Pro Football Focus (subscription required), he graded as the 19th-best center in the league. He was a better run-blocker than pass-protector, but he has the skill set to be a good fit in new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak's scheme.

Re: New OC thread
Why would he get "some credit" for the Run Game? He was the Run Game Coordinator. I've read shit that mentioned that Bevell wasn't even in the room when they were installing the run game for the coming week. Kind of an odd set up, if you ask me. Cable's issue was he knew he was smart and tried to get cute by telling JS and PC he just needed big guys, not college O Lineman. College O Lineman suck because they have bad habits. That didn't work out very well, but I blame JS and PC more for buying that bullshit. It was the beginning of JS deciding that the way to build a good O Line was to throw a ton of mediocre to bad talent out there and hope you can find five guys that don't destroy your offense. Joke Show.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 2:13 amYeah, I've always felt cable was pretty good, and should get some credit for that run game. You know Marshawn loves him some cable. He would politic for cable getting another HC gig. I think Marshawn came off as a rebel but he was coachable, him and cable had a good relationship. Do the jets trade him if they understand what's he capable of? Cable tapped into it
Anyway, what I see is them installing this new offense and willing to invest in it. Could argue kubiak is getting a lot more support than they gave Grubb
Oh, and an article talking about a new Seahawk OC and how the guys we have are now a better fit. Outstanding find. There have been many of those over the past fifteen years. I wonder why?
Re: New OC thread
Yeah is one of the O lineman a worse fit? Or are they all identical. lolDonn Beach wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 2:20 amJust sorta interesting to me how these guys are supposed to be a better fit in kubiaks offense. I know you think of that as a rhetorical question, but i would say yes, the wide zone system probably IS a worse fit for phone booth guys like Bradford (who seems all but forgotten now) and Laumea.D-train wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 9:56 pmYeah is one of the O lineman a worse fit? By contrast for Haynes, the new system supposedly is very similar to what he excelled in in college, and the supposed shortcoming for him last year (brute strength) should be less emphasized as the zone relies more on angles than simply overpowering the man in front of you. It's why you hear us so linked to Grey Zabel more so than Tyler Booker, even though Booker is supposed to be the absolute prototype Guard prospect - Booker is a mauler but Zabel more mobile.

From an article on what coaches seats are warning up, MM is still pretty cool but still. This is what I was getting at, you can't can your oc as if it was all his fault and not be questioned. This next season is going to be important. It's on MM now
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/251 ... -nfl-draftMike Macdonald, Seattle Seahawks: Any time a new head coach fires one of his coordinators, you must consider the urgency factor. Macdonald fired OC Ryan Grubb after their first season together. If he flubs his second choice in an offensive play-caller, the Seahawks may see him as the bigger problem

Cross on the new system, O line dream
"Everyone's really excited. Kubiak's bringing a new system in, everyone's excited to learn it and understand the nuances of it, and really just bring it to life," Cross said, per the team's official website. "I feel like it's going to help everyone as far as the scheme and skill set of the offense, running off the ball, getting the ball out quick. I feel like it's an O-line's dream to play in a system like this."

I think I read that quote after every robot Schneider brought in to run our offense. Sorry, fool me five times?
