Investing that much money in one player that isn't even a QB seems unwise.

There's always hand wringing over deals. The doom and gloom over the RW contract with the Broncos, it was very unwise. But what's the consequences, the broncos were supposedly crippled financially. It doesn't look that way to me, or even being crippled they are doing a pretty good job of things these days.

$47M a season. The Pack had the 4th ranked defense last year.
Yeah those picks will likely be 25th or worse.
or as local cynics call it, those picks will be "Colliers".
if they werent already favored over the Lions for that division, they certainly will be now.
Ugh, I had actually forgotten that fuckers name. He had five sacks in his career, four of them were one yard losses were he was standing at the LOS and grabbed a guy scrambling…and he danced like he won the Super Bowl. I am of course making up those numbers, but I think I’m pretty close. This one was up there with bone head Pete and John moves, that is for sure. Hated him when we picked him and my hatred grew every snap he played. Which wasn’t many.

We’ve been hearing about the demise of the Rams since they paid Todd Gurley. There are ways around it….its just an excuse for poorly run organizations.

Does this explain why Schneider won't break the bank to bolster the o line?

NFL's highest-paid offensive linemen in 2024 (average salary per year):
1. Lions OL Penei Sewell: $28 million
2. Texans OL Laremy Tunsil: $25 million
3. Giants OL Andrew Thomas: $23.5 million
4. 49ers OL Trent Williams: $23.01 million
5. Eagles OL Jordan Mailata: $22 million
6. Eagles OL Landon Dickerson: $21 million
7. Falcons OL Chris Lindstrom: $20.5 million
8. Bills OL Dion Dawkins: $20.02 million
9. Eagles OL Lane Johnson: $20 million
9. Colts OL Quenton Nelson: $20 million
9. Chiefs OL Jawaan Taylor: $20 million
9. Panthers OL Robert Hunt: $20 million

Should it? Do you see any of those O Lines that were as bad as ours was last year? I see three guys in there that won a Super Bowl last year. So, unless you think John's goal is to have a below average O Line and not win a Super Bowl? I'm not sure I'm following your logic. I don't think the Eagles are upset that they have three names on that list....would you be if you were an Eagle fan? The Lions had one of the best O Lines in the league, the Texans had a pretty damn good run game, the 49ers had injury issues, the Bills were pretty damn good, the Chiefs lost a Super Bowl.....where you actually being serious with this? I don't know much about Andrew Thomas or Robert Hunt, but I don't see many names on there that scream over paid.

the worst part of it was that it was a stellar DL class, and PR was our biggest need at the time. could have stayed at 24 and landed physical freak Montez Sweat, instead we pass on the twitchiest DE to get the least twitchy one, that nobody else projected first round. reminds me of when Jacksonville drafted DE Tyson Alealu tenth overall from Cal, which drew a lot of catcalls. but Tyson at least had a long career as a run defender holding the edge.
