now that's pretty wild. Had read he was stabbed, now arrested geez
New details have emerged after it was reported Saturday that FOX Sports analyst Mark Sanchez was arrested for his involvement in an altercation that led to him being stabbed. According to Angela Ganote of FOX 59 in Indianapolis, Sanchez was “not cooperative” when police arrived on the scene early Saturday morning.

Ganote reported that, according to the police narrative, another man told officers he was delivering food when Sanchez told him he needed to move his car from where it was parked. The man told police that Sanchez began threatening him and followed him, eventually attacking him.

The man said he used pepper spray on Sanchez at first, but after that didn’t work, he defended himself with a knife. Police noted that the man had a significant injury on his face.

Sanchez was taken to a hospital in critical condition and underwent surgery. He was arrested Saturday and charged with battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and public intoxication, all of which are misdemeanors.
battery with injury has to be a felony
Great way to prep for calling a game, wouldnt you say? must be his broadcasting version of the butt fumble.

He is characterized by police as being "not cooperative" at the scene, geez the guy was then admitted to the hospital in critical condition, could that go down as perhaps the ultimate hardheaded attitude? I've known some hardheads but that is pretty unbelievable if you think about it.

Geno might want to think about writing them back.

There has to be a video as fast as they made Sanchez the suspect and no fault on the door dasher.
I wonder how bad that's going to look.

In here? I guess I thought most thought he was mediocre at best. But really all we had. Remember the quarter and a half against Green Bay when Howell.played!? Haha

Yeah where is Howell now? Is he still in the NFL or did he inherit Thurston's fortune and decided to retire on Gilligan's Island?

That would make more sense than anyone thinking the guy we saw that day deserves to play an NFL snap. In my entire lifetime I've never seen an NFL QB look less ready to play a football game than that guy was that day. OK, sorry, MAYBE during COVID when they were pulling guys off the practice squad the morning of because everyone else was exposed!

I guess sanchez was charged with misdemeanors but they have been upgraded
Marion County prosecutor Ryan Mears announced the upgraded charge Monday morning, saying Sanchez faces a Level 5 felony charge of battery "involving serious bodily injury." Punishment can range from one to six years in prison, according to Mears.

"One of the challenges you have in a case like this is that you are dealing with individuals who are receiving medical care and that's, obviously, the most important thing, that individuals are treated appropriately," Mears said. "But once we were provided with additional information about the victim's current medical condition, it became clear to us that additional charges needed to be filed."
According to an affidavit for probable cause based on hotel video footage of the altercation early Saturday and statements to police, Sanchez allegedly accosted the driver of a box truck that backed into a hotel's loading dock.

According to the affidavit, the confrontation escalated to the point where the truck driver believed he was in danger, sprayed Sanchez in the face with pepper spray and, with Sanchez still advancing toward him, said he thought "this guy is trying to kill me."

The truck driver then pulled his knife and, with Sanchez still coming at him, said he struck Sanchez "two or three times," according to the affidavit. The truck driver said he was thrown against a dumpster and onto the ground and believed he was in a "life-or-death situation." The driver, according to the affidavit, then said "a look of shock" came to Sanchez's face and Sanchez "took off."
Yeah, there is video, everything is on video these days. Be interesting how he is treated, he's got the money for a defense, poor and its slam dunk prison. Anybody willing to bet this isn't going to involve his bearing his soul over his substance abuse issues, going into a treatment clinic bla bla bla. Sanchez is fortunate the guy didn't have a gun
