Kinda interesting, Barnwell writing that JS could be facing a dilemma, that it could come down to a choice between Rasheed or Walker. They are similar kind of offensive weapons seems to me, similar values with their explosiveness.

Seems like there should be a system like WAR for football so you could compare value across positions. Wonder how rasheed and Walker would compare

yeah, i've been saying for years that the WR position is overrated and overpaid, but particularly so for any that are not a true #1. Arroyo could be just as good for Hawks as Ferguson is for the Rams, in fact may have even better upside, having the superior speed at least. And since Barner has already surprised the league with his previously untapped receiving prowess, thrown in with the promise Tory Horton has shown, and you can see how low of a priority adding a wideout is this year, even if we do lose Rashid. Year after, sure, but no reason to throw significant capital at it right now.

JSN is not getting anywhere near 40 million, that's just absurd. For that price we could have both K9 & Shaheed. You don't spend a fortune on any one player thats not the QB. No 1 player is above everybody else. I hate saying get rid of JSN but just when stocks are high, you sell, sell, sell. No reason to think that he couldn't fetch a bundle on the open market. If he really wants to be paid top of the market, see ya. I'm not sacrificing anything just some diva WR can have all the glory & not even get 50% of the targets. I know the draft ain't great but with another 1st, possibly 2 imagine what you could do with those extra picks. Yes JSN is a big part of the offense, he isn't the only part. MM wants to be a run first team. Do you really need a superstar on the outside who's again not gonna get the bulk of the targets. You know Sam wants to spread it around. Especially with Fluery coming in, you know damn well he's gonna wanna utilize the TEs more, thus taking more targets away from JSN. Again while he's a great player, he's not the focal point of this offense. 1 player does not make up a team. I'd still invest in the OL, bring another Guard to plug in at RG, let Bradford walk, re-sign K9 & Shaheed & then draft somebody else. We don't need a true #1 in all honesty, we really don't. This offense runs through K9 first & foremost & with Charbs out for half the season, who do you think is gonna get a bulk of the touches. Again I'm not advocating trading JSN but if he really wants top of the market money, JS might have to seriously weigh his options. Especially if he wants to keep the continuity. Just something to think about.

I mean, why don't we just keep it real here. This team is not going to repeat. A lot of talent is going to slip away and they don't have the draft picks or cap space to replace what they're going to lose. Everything came together this season with regard to guys peaking at the right time and avoiding injuries and the team chemistry and we should feel very grateful for the great season we just witnessed and enjoyed. Darnold is a good quarterback but the only way you can keep getting back there any more is if you have a Brady/Mahomes type QB who can carry a team that otherwise has overall mediocre talent and is willing to make team-friendly deals so that they can retain other talented players.
Mediocre overall talent is what the Seahawks will have after they lose Walker, Shaheed, Woolen, Mafe, Jobe, etc. It will take a few years to retool if JS continues to kill it in the draft and make good FA acquisitions and trades, but they'll be taking a step backward in the mean time.
