Fifteen players on the Seahawks’ 53-man roster in the Super Bowl entered the league as UDFAs. This includes starters on both sides of the ball like Rashid Shaheed, Jalen Sundell and Drake Thomas, special teams standouts like Jason Myers, Brady Russell and Chris Stoll, key rotational pieces like Josh Jobe, Ty Okada, George Holani and Brandon Pili, and solid backups like Jake Bobo, Patrick O’Connell and Nick Kallerup. Rounding out the list are young depth pieces Jared Ivey and Connor O’Toole.

Kallerup turned out to be a more valuable TE than Arroyo due to his outstanding blocking.

I thought this was pretty funny.

Insight into their draft strategy, looking for edge rushers
Hello, chasing edges is a motto, focusing on the details. How does he not know that?HawkBlogger Brian Nemhauser got to talk to Macdonald and asked him what he is primarily doing during this Scouting Combine. Macdonald responded that he’s ‘always chasing edges.” Macdonald and the Seahawks have a love of utilizing and developing multiple edge rushers in a game, or even on the field at the same time

I was just thinking about how when we went to our first Super Bowl under Holmgren and then our second and third ones under Carroll, there was a building period of several years. This one under McDonald, it felt like he just took over and BOOM, Super Bowl Champions. We were just sitting here hoping for playoffs and the next thing you know we're having a parade going whaaaaaa.
I mean, what if McDonald's the best coach in NFL history and we're just witnessing the beginning?

Exactly, the guy is 36 years old, it's his second frigging season as a HC. That's really been my takeaway from this thing. We are just at the beginning of this guy's career. It's not so much, is this particular team going to repeat or be a dynasty but what is In Mike's future. What are we in for.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 03, 2026 2:12 amI was just thinking about how when we went to our first Super Bowl under Holmgren and then our second and third ones under Carroll, there was a building period of several years. The thing that worried me about hiring him was the six year contract it took. Thinking they would end up eating half of it. Heck, they should have made it ten years.
And on top of that there's JS. Was it beginning to feel like he had been around too long? How about signing him to a ten year extension while we are at it. I think we have a HC-FO combination as good as any in the league. I had thought Pete and John was a nice pair but it feels like MM and John could slam dunk that. I guess that's the anxiety of a new owner, that's what could get screwed up

Yeah, all year this just felt early. Like, I kept pinching myself. How can this be happening already?Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Mar 03, 2026 2:35 amExactly, the guy is 36 years old, it's his second frigging season as a HC. That's really been my takeaway from this thing. This certainly beats rehashing Super Bowl XLIX lol. I remember arguing they were basically tanking after the 49er loss. The objective being to amass cap space for 2026. Man, being stuck in that mediocre no man's land hovering around. 500 until they found a QB, that's what I expected.

I didn't think they were tanking on purpose, but I thought they had greatly over stated the value of one new Guard and new offensive coaches. I thought they had ZERO faith in Sam Darnold after we "rode" his 96 yards passing to a one score deficit with less than two minutes to play! I can't think of a time in the last three decades where the passing game looked worse. Then? We turn him lose, JSN makes two big plays and we probably should have won that game anyway.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Mar 03, 2026 3:44 pmThis certainly beats rehashing Super Bowl XLIX lol. Maybe it was that drive inside the two minute warning that made them decide they couldn't just curl up in a ball on offense, but man was I ever disappointed in that loss. Not since Alexander fumbled at Arizona when we were trying to seal the game, and then he threw Hass under the bus have I ever been that frustrated with the way we lost. That's probably not true, since Pete used to find more and more imaginative ways to suck for three quarters in games we lost because we couldn't dig out....but I was sure pissed after week one. Seems like a decade ago!
