Wilson wants superstars

Post by Codebrown » Mon Feb 03, 2020 5:35 pm

Saw his interview and the caption in the times made me think...if he wants superstars now why go after the highest contract then expect the team to sign when you force them to try other ways to make a better team. The logic doesn’t seem to work unless you want to trade draft picks for players. I don’t think they have done nearly as well with their pics as think could have.

60 million possibly 70 million under cap next year. They can go after superstars. His contract isn't an issue.

They somehow made this work. We can complain about first day draft picks and play calling, but this FO nailed it with the contracts for Russ and Wags and still having room...without destroying the roster. They locked up what they wanted and added young pieces and got us to this position now were we have flexibility to add talent. Russ's contract wasn't an albatross, and neither was Wagner's. Makes you wonder what would have happened if they had paid Clark?

I think Seahawks were reluctant to give that kinda money to Clark and judging by his actions this postseason they might be right. Plus the need for more draft picks prompted the trade more than $.
