I know all this Michael. I'm not worried about losing him, it's part of the process. I'm saying we should respect the value he brought to the seahawks. It's exactly how we got JS. Did the Packers replace JS with the same value?Did the Ravens replace MM with equal value? It's transitional by its nature, but I also don't think you can assume it's no big deal replacing them. It's talent hunting just like it is with the players on the field.

Sure, but what would they be trading? It's really impossible to quantify. I doubt JS is trading the value he reaped over the previous 13 years for two 3rds. Say they had the expectation of similar value for the next five years. I'd think they'd have to think about it.

He isn't trading thirteen years, he is trading one guy that helped him draft. You don't think we can find someone else to work with John that will bring equal value? He was here 13 years, so fuck him....he is probably the reason we drafted LJ Collier!

I can make that assumption just as easily as you can assume that we are going to suffer without him! We had some headscratchingly dumb drafts in those thirteen years. I put a lot of blame on Pete, but acting as though we are now going to curl up in a ball in the War Room and suck our thumbs on draft night is crazy.

Teasley was Assistant GM from 2023-2025, so how much input would he have had regarding the drafting of LJ Collier as Director of pro personnel? He was a scout from 2014-16. My point is, and I agree with you, I don't think the departure of Teasley is that big a deal. It's pro sports, people are always moving around and looking to ascend the ranks.

We've already found a new OC. Guess we'll find out how that goes.

This seems to me to be valuing that one assistant GM more than the players we received for losing him. Not sure how all the things you have said in here all boil down to

You spent a lot of time and energy to tell us you aren't worried. If you're point was we should respect the value he brought here but we will be fine without him, why waste so much time saying so much other shit?

Wait a minute, I didn't say we'd be fine without him. My point is we can't assume that. We can't assume any of these changes will be successful. Teasley's impact would be different than Walker or Kubiak. JS doesn't personally put together drafts. He relies on the talent in his office. He's losing some of that talent. Personally I'm concerned about losing Kubiak. I'm not seeing Price really as a Walker replacement out of the gate. How successful that transition will be I think depends a lot on the new OC. Again, I wouldn't be surprised if they lean more to their passing offense. Teasley be a more subtle loss of an edge in talent going forward
