Well he hates China, there's that. A good thing? I'm curious what difference it makes. If we are going by politics then Robert Kraft is the hero i guess.
Re: Breaking its done
I can't fathom how his politics is going to impact the running of the team. More Pride celebrations? I do not care.

I don't like it, but wokeness is largely performative, so not necessarily meaning an actual lack of intelligence.
He also said the money (profits?) will go to a non-profit. I still need to figure out wtf that means.

I think what he means is the money they are spending to buy it is going to charity. They are making a charity donation and getting a football team out of the deal.
The guy ain't dumb when it comes to investing, and this is what it is, a business investment. That he wants to invest shows it's a solid deal to begin with. Its interesting to me. He's different from like Allen or Gates or whoever. Those guys had an idea and made a lot of money. This guy has generated $150 billion in value out of 40 different ideas. He knows what he is doing when it comes to investing. That being said, I doubt we hear much more from him once it's closed. It's a investment group and he isn't going to be the managing partner as I understand it.
What you want to stay away from are the ones that have to be the center of attention, it has to be about them. That's what bothers me about guys like Musk, Balmer or Donald for that matter. This guy does seem to like some attention so we shall see.
Reminds me of the deal I read about the Brewers. They have made it part of their culture that the story isn't supposed to be about you. It's supposed to be about the team. The hold a kangaroo court where anybody in the organization can be fined over actions considered bringing attention to themselves. The owner got fined for wearing a jersey to a game. I can see that, the Brewers are a successful organization. And they really push the message, it's the team not the person. Donald would go down in flames.

This whole deal makes me nervous, but having ideal owners like Paul and Jody probably spoiled us. I read that his wife will be controlling owner and his son will have an active role. My biggest hope is that they stay the feck out of the way and let a successful franchise run with the current personnel and management philosophy. My greatest fear is that they start tinkering and bringing in their own people in key operational and day-to-day roles.
I talked to one of my oldest buddies in the Hawks' FO yesterday, right after it was announced. Pretty sure he will be retiring now at 70. He told me that he thinks they will be good owners, and that Vinod is extremely intelligent and extraordinarily competitive. It sounded like Vinod and Paul knew each other very well and probably crossed paths many times, since they both grew up in the tech world at virtually the same time.
We shall see, but it definitely feels like the end of an era this morning.

It's okay, I'm sure his wife is a big fan of American Football and thinks the world of white men like Macdonald and Schneider as long as they vote Democrat and support islamo-socialist ideals as put forth by NYC's mayor.
