Wow, that stinks.A day after receiver Josh Gordon had again apparently become a Seahawk, his return to the field has been put on hold after he was reported to have a setback in his battle with substance abuse.
The Seattle Times learned Tuesday that the NFL had told both Gordon and the Seahawks that the league had determined Gordon had not satisfied the terms of his conditional reinstatement from suspension. The league told the team that Gordon may attend team meetings and individual workouts, but he is ineligible to participate in practices or games.
A report later Tuesday from Tom Pelissero of The NFL Network, the league’s official media arm, stated that Gordon “had a setback in his battle with substance abuse and now won’t be allowed to practice or play indefinitely,.”
That leaves it unclear if — or when — Gordon will ever play for the Seahawks again, or for any NFL team.

Well, so much for that. Is weed still a banned substance, or is he "abusing" some other substance?

Just says he failed to meet conditions. I wonder if he was supposed to follow treatment or something and didn't. If it was performance enhancing I don't think it would be labeled as substance abuse.
It could also be that even though marijuana is not banned they said he couldn't use marijuana?

jesus h. christ.
how is that even possible? You're clean for a year, then go out and celebrate your reinstatement with some crack??
Unreal.
Could he have just missed an appointment to pee in a cup or something? Not sure that's a 'setback' but why would he be allowed to attend team meetings if he peed hot?

Just put him in Penny Hart's jersey. If nobody blabs, how's anyone going to know?

Misguided? Yes. Loser? No.
Drug addiction is a disease just like cancer or any other disease. Yes, the individual makes the choice to start. However, once addiction gets its claws into you it is almost impossible to get away from it.
