I agree Price at 32 is a reach and I do not care. He is our only option for a starting RB. Could get cute and try to trade back to get him as 57reasons is hoping for but that scares me.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2026 3:06 pmEdge defenders are expected to go like hotcakes in the first two rounds. Might not be much left at 64. If you can get a good one (or CB) at 32 i'd take it, otherwise they should definitely trade back. Price at 32 is a reach.

We won the SB with an amazing D and the only Edge we lost is Boye freakin Mafe. Can replace him day 2. Might be a slight downgrade but isn't going to neuter our pass rush.

That may be, but Lawrence is getting old and Nwosu seems to be in decline after all the injuries he's had. Also DL isn't that good a pass rusher, at least not according to PFF who graded him high in run D and coverage. Walker was a bigger loss than Mafe, but there are some young guys that need a chancs to show what they can do in the RB group.

Re: 2026 Draft thread
I think the argument is the RB class is a lot thinner. If JS is serious about a RB he might have to get one early. He'll have plenty of CBs and edge to still choose from. I don't think you can call it a reach, Pundits put him somewhere in that range. It might seem odd for JS to use a first round pick on a RB but it's a very low first round pickSibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2026 3:06 pmEdge defenders are expected to go like hotcakes in the first two rounds. You sound like Jerry DiPoto saying the young prospects need runway. None have our current RBs have a chance in hell to be RB1s....And I like them though verdicts out on Green Bay guy.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2026 3:54 pmThat may be, but Lawrence is getting old and Nwosu seems to be in decline after all the injuries he's had. Daniel Jerimiah said Price will def be there at 32 but most he slides is 5-7 picks so he will be top 40 for sure. I just don't think it is worth the risk to trade back given our situation. If Zach was healthy we wouldn't even be having this convo but we all know ACLs and injuries in general always take longer to heal than expected and almost NEVER quicker. If Zach is back on the field before Turkey day I shall be shocked.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2026 4:54 pmI think the argument is the RB class is a lot thinner. Re: 2026 Draft thread
I think JS feels pretty confident where he thinks he could get Price based on the needs of the clubs in that range of picks. Using a pick that high on a RB would indicate a pretty clear need. I also don't think he's really sweating it. He is confident in the backs he has as well as getting one after the draft possibly. I'm pretty much split on whether he'll bother grabbing Price there. I think it has as much to do with having one in the system as needing an immediate starter. I don't think you can draft him expecting him to start.
I'm going with Price really based on his makeup. He's a seahawk kind of player. It's as much about developing him as its needing a starter. Terms of the actual starter, they might come later. The Marshawn Lynch trade was just before training camp. You can find guys.
Stanton had a piece where he graded Price and Coleman just about even. Coleman could be a target, get him day three or four

Re: 2026 Draft thread
The clear consensus is there is two RB1s in the draft. Day 4? So our RB1 is going to be a UDFA? Trading for Lynch seems like a miracle in hindsight. If we do that again, then start building a JS statue. What are we going to use to trade for a RB?Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2026 5:36 pmI think JS feels pretty confident where he thinks he could get Price based on the needs of the clubs in that range of picks. Re: 2026 Draft thread
Round three or four. Really no concern at all for consensus, it's going to depend on how JS grades them. There's different directions he could go.

JS has what, 12 picks in next seasons draft. He doesn't need to match the Lynch trade, it was probably one of the greatest trades in NFL history. But there's going to be guys available, maybe David Montgomery, Alvin Kamara, Najee Harris. That's where your starter could be. And again, they are going to use multiple RBs. He's really not looking for a feature back in the first placeI can imagine the Seahawks taking Price at #32. I can also imagine the Seahawks waiting on a player like Jonah Coleman, too, and going in a different direction with their top choice. But they do run the risk of missing out completely, so it’ll be interesting to see how they approach this
October 5, 2010, the Seattle Seahawks acquired running back Marshawn Lynch from the Buffalo Bills for a 2011 fourth-round pick and a 2012 conditional draft pick (later a fifth)
