Re: Joe Mixon has signed
Speaking of football shape, Charbs isn't even close either. MM was very definitive that it wasn't even considered that he would play this week. Not surprising at all but I doubt he is his old self until close the end of the season...Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2026 8:49 amWildly productive, i like that, he's small, probably more of a gadget guySomething going to give when charbonnet returns. Be interesting who they move on from.Henry was a wildly productive player at UTSA last year — he topped 1,000 yards on the ground," Davenport wrote in May. "He averaged almost seven yards per carry and scored 11 total touchdowns while peeling off five runs of 70 yards or more. However, he is also a 24-year-old rookie who is just 5'9″ and 196 pounds, which led to his going undrafted … The Washington running back room isn't exactly loaded—the team's lead back is a second-year pro who was a seventh-round pick last year. Henry has a realistic shot to earn a roster spot if he carries his college burst and elusiveness into camp.

Then when Price returns, that's when it gets interesting....

Old, coming off injury and all the baggage. I guess the Hawks don't have a three strikes you are out policy. The legal headlines followed him into the pros.
In 2023, Mixon faced a misdemeanor aggravated-menacing charge in connection with a road-rage incident in Cincinnati, but a judge found him not guilty at trial.
Separately, in March 2023, a teenager playing a Nerf game near Mixon’s home was shot by Mixon’s sister’s boyfriend. Authorities did not charge Mixon, but the victim’s family sued him and the alleged shooter. The lawsuit was settled in 2025.
AND Walker leads the NFL in rushing and yards per carry but I am sure JS loves the current RB room so much better and has no regrets whatsoever. lol

I'm not sold at all on Henry. He's small, slow and a rookie that wont fill holani's role. He's going to be on the roster for three weeks, after that we'll see.D-train wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2026 11:57 amPretty simple.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2026 8:49 amWildly productive, i like that, he's small, probably more of a gadget guySomething going to give when charbonnet returns. So why do you think JS didn't bother to re-sign Walker?D-train wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2026 12:03 pmOld, coming off injury and all the baggage. I guess the Hawks don't have a three strikes you are out policy. The legal headlines followed him into the pros.

Re: Joe Mixon has signed
A few possibilities.
1. He loves the RB by committee program that Walker had no interest in
2. He bought into the don't sign a RB to a second contract mantra
3. Walker didn't want to be here under any circumstances (I find that hard to believe)
4. He thought he could get more bang for his buck elsewhere. (obviously dead wrong on that so far)
5. He thought the RB room would be fine without him (obviously dead wrong on that so far)

Walker is a better back than the backs we have...
But I think it's also foolish to assume that he'd have anywhere near the same production given differences in scheme and run blocking. Fluery's running scheme has left a lot to be desired IMO. And that's disappointing given that he's come from SF.
I don't think any of our backs are getting lanes that look like this:

Re: Joe Mixon has signed
the decision was made way before the end of the season. Walker said he knew he wasn't returning during the season. The Walker doesn't fit could play a part but not what it was going to cost since it hadn't been established yet. It seems like it was a really firm decision, more like a fact of life. Even with the charbonnet injury he didn't waver, he never contacted Walkers agent about even then. I think JS is the sort of guy that really commits to his decisions. Like how firmly he stuck to his position with Clowney.D-train wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2026 1:34 pmA few possibilities.

Good point, it's argued backs get too much credit in the first place. If the argument is Walker could be here leading the league in yardage that wasn't going to happen.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2026 2:21 pmWalker is a better back than the backs we have...
