The Butts thought they were getting the AB of 2018 instead of the 32 year old rustbucket he is. Sometimes teams need to be reminded of what year it is and how old the players are.

Re: Gordon is out of the Pokey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
actually it could be more Tom Brady than it is AB
Those problems last beyond Brown, having a large part to do with Tom Brady's struggles with deep passes. Per NFL's Next Gen Stats, Brady is 0 for 19 on deep passes (20-plus air yards down the field) over his last four games, three of which being the games Brown has played. In the first seven games of the season, Brady was 14 for 39 (35.9%) on deep ball passes with two touchdowns and no interceptions for a passer rating of 101.2. Brady is just 3 for 36 on deep passes since Week 5 of the season.
The struggles are well out of Brown's hands -- literally. All signs point to Brady, as Arians believes he's found his issues regarding deep passes.
"Other than the deep ball, I think he's getting confused a few times with coverage that might be causing some inaccurate balls," Arians said. "I don't see it at all in practice. We're not missing the deep ball at all in practice – that's for sure. It's just a matter on Sundays of hitting them."

Re: Gordon is out of the Pokey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would bet that's exactly what it was - they decided to give him a 1 year suspension, but for whatever reason didn't want to announce it as such, so just left him in limbo as a big F.U.
Total dick move by the commish if that's what happened (and it's hard to think that's not it, considering the timing).
The randomness of their penalties annoys me. Jarran Reed gets 6 games for kicking a crazy drunk woman out his house, Gordon has a 'disease' (according to all the commercials I see), and gets years. Michael Vick? Sure, come on back. Brady/Belichick get caught cheating FOUR TIMES? give up a 6th round draft pick, but keep your Super Bowl.

Re: Gordon is out of the Pokey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How about the time Brandon Browner missed more games for missing a piss test he didn't know about because he was playing in the CFL than Aldon Smith did for all the shit he pulled? It is completely arbitrary. Goodell is a douche, but the players are worse. I've said it many times, they were more worried about the salary cap going up and not having to practice to pay attention to what was going on in the CBA.
Speaking of, did you hear RG III try to blame his injury and a couple others the Ravens suffered on the league for a lack of practice? Then saying the same about why they lost?
These fuckers don't practice anyway! What a crock...point out the increase in injuries after pre season practices and games were eliminated and practices have been reduced to next to nothing!? The players freak out, don't want to hear about it. But if the NFL does something to make sure a game is played when a team fucks up, ignores protocols and then has to play the game anyway? "We lost and we got hurt because we didn't practice!" Ask that dude how much practice he has had all year being the backup QB? Yep, you got hurt because of a lack of practice, even though you never practice anyway and the Players Union is constantly trying to fight for less practice! What a joke.

Re: Gordon is out of the Pokey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Agreed - the players always act like little brats. They always forget the get paid an insane amount of money to play a game plain and simple. Its what makes Gordon's story all the more irritating as he's blown his prime years of playing and years to make 10+mill/year all because of his addictions. Good thing for us is we only need him to stay sober for ~2 months, here's hoping, lol. Poor guy seriously needs to move to an island somewhere and never look back. Otherwise he'll end up in jail before too long or worse.Michael K. wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 1:53 amThese fuckers don't practice anyway! SeattleAddict wrote: ↑Thu Dec 03, 2020 11:13 pmGordon was quite possibly the best WR in the league before his drug issues. He showed an immediate connection with RW last year, particularly on third down. If anybody thinks adding a player of that caliber WON'T help the team, they're kidding themselves. This is not some AB coming off the street (where he's probably throwing bicycles into cameras), Gordon has been on the team, and already liked, already familiar with the playbook. The only question would be whether he's lost a step, or is rusty.
I'd say worst case is he takes away some time from Swain and his 1 catch/game, and becomes a decoy.
Best case is he gives RW a 3-headed monster and an absolute coverage nightmare for other teams.

AB is averaging 8 yards a catch so yeah must be having an issue with those deep 10+ yard catches.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Dec 03, 2020 11:51 pmactually it could be more Tom Brady than it is AB

Re: Gordon is out of the Pokey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have watched a few of the Bucs games....haven't checked out the stats, but AB doesn't seem to lack for targets. He can't make anyone miss anymore and Tom never was much of a deep ball guy. I love how Arians got his man, his man is playing exactly the way he has the last two or three years, and Arians is pissed about it! Big Ben should send him a Thank You card every year. If Arians had stayed his OC in Pittsburgh he would have been knocked out of the league years ago.
