oops that was a typo. 13-24D-train wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 10:52 pmWhy only 14 PAs for Levis I wonder. I'm loving Penix. Can't wait to see what he does vs. a legit D Saturday.SeattleAddict wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 10:36 pmI didn't watch any, but two of our top prospects actually played against each other: Levis with Kentucky vs Richardson of Florida.
Levis went 13-14, 202 1 TD, 1 INT... QBR 40.4
Richardson: 14/35 143 0, 2..... QBR 3.8 (lol)
Obviously, this doesn't mean that much, but both teams were top 20, so it's valid tape against legit opponents (the other guys mostly played against nobodies)

Re: Good look at the 2023 QB draft class
somebody said last year that Levis would be our guy, so I watched his first two games now and he looks pretty bad. Physically, he is impressive - big, strong, cannon arm. He's built like a defensive end. But man, his accuracy is not great, and he throws weak balls into traffic while zipping the ball 100mph at wide open guys. In his defense, his pass protection against Florida was awful, especially his right tackle. But against Miami OH he had no pressure and threw a horrible pick at the 2 yard line.
I'm gonna move on to some of the other guys.

Re: Good look at the 2023 QB draft class
I watched about half of the "top ten" guys this year, most on multiple occasions. Levis and Richardson looked terrible. Not just bad, terrible. Both are impressive physical specimens, but so was Dan McGwire. I wouldn't pick either of them before the 5th round, much less a top 5. Richardson could be a Taysom Hill - he is a very dangerous runner, but can't throw for shit. If he's drafted as a TE and gadget QB, I might go for it.
I have to say, aside from the top 2, the guy I like best for the Seahawks is Haener. I kinda wrote him off because he left UW, but they went 1-4 when he was hurt, then rattled off 9 wins in a row when he came back. He is one of those not flashy, hard working types that is going to get the job done. Maybe he won't be the next Brady, but I see him being someone like Hasselbeck. I doubt he gets drafted crazy high, so maybe 3rd or 4th round pickup after filling the bigger needs. I like Hooker, too. He comes with the bonus of all kinds of "Hooker sucks" jokes if it doesn't work out. His injury may drop his draft stock sufficiently to get him at a bargain price.
This is my official pre-pre-draft QB analysis. Let's see how it plays out.

It is fun to look back 2 years later and see some right picks but it is mostly BS picks by the National media
