Huge get. Exactly what most of us have been begging for - a difference making interior D-lineman.

Whether he starts or not is irrelevant, as now they can actually have a rotation that doesn't suck. Remember that Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett didn't start most of their time during the SB years. They were at their best when they were fresh and rotating in.

2nd round pick for a guy that is immediately one of the best players on the defensive line is a good deal. If we drafted a guy with that #64 overall pick, he's probably not going to be as big an impact.

And if all you base your evaluation of a DT is their sack totals, you are really missing the point of what a DT does.

Fine with me. Needed to shore up the interior.

Williams was one of those generational players when he was drafted. Has always been a little bit underwhelming for NY... but the Giants are also a trash organization.

Hopefully he kills it.

That is a super high price to pay for a win it all now move for a guy that has 1.5 sacks on the year.
How many sacks to most interior lineman have before the season is even half over? Is he Aaron Donald? No, but he is added to what has become a pretty good D Line. Never going to make everyone happy, but wasn't it just two months ago everyone bitched that our d line was going to suck? Now? It's pretty good, we added a guy that was a top 5 pick and one of the best in the game, and the price was too high?

As for this being something the Rams do? The Rams have a ring too. If this gets us a ring I imagine I'll be just fine with not having a second round pick the following year. As for the fifth rounder? Who gives a shit?

I like getting a DT. But wow, massive price for a half season rental.

DT sack leaders so far

Madubuike 6.5
Chris Jones 5.5
Ed Oliver 5
Aaron Donald, Cristin Wilkins and Jeffery Simmons 4.5
Buckner and Jaron Reed with 4

I'm fine getting a guy considered one of the best in the league who only has 1.5. Crazy his pass rush grade is so high...jee, I wonder if he causes disruption and is often times double teamed?

He has like 40 for his career, and 11.5 a few years ago. I would imagine some guys get to pad their stats when their team is leading and the other team has to throw. Meanwhile, the Giants' opponents are just having a barbecue and beer on the sideline while their backups run out the clock.

I wouldn't bet on the half season rental. Williams has been one of the best players in the league at his position for the Giants and Jets organizations. You think he won't like the Seahawks culture??

I mean, you never know how it'll work or if he's more motivated to go to the highest bidder, but clearly they are trying to win NOW, which is hell of a good thing, if you ask me. I also don't think a low 2nd round pick is a 'massive' price for a very good player (though if he really is just a half season rental and we end up sucking it could be a stiff price)

Do the Seahawks use two DTs in their formations very often? Just wondering.
