I guess the Manning comparison does at least give one hope that he will figure things out. ;)

I am buying his jersey and am committed to being his #1 fan.

This guy says only Caleb Williams is better in the 2024 draft.

They need to open up competition in camp. Best man wins the job.

I'm thinking spending time on a qb competition would detract from getting the new offense installed. Competition is great and all that, but going into camp with a starting qb focused on running the offense with the first team would have plenty of value too

Some of those are pretty bad, but a lot were in a Buffalo game that got out of hand real fast. Some others on third and long outside of FG range. Sometimes it's worth taking a shot instead of dumping it off. I wonder how many times they converted on third and long outside of FG range because they actually tried to?

The guy was protected pretty poorly last year, was a very young QB with mediocre weapons outside of Scary Terry. Pretty early to be writing him off. I wonder how many guys that wanted us to draft a QB to be the starter this year or next would be freaking out when a young QB threw picks? It's going to happen. Too bad the Colts didn't give up on Manning after he lead the NFL in picks. Tom Brady might have even more rings then.

I want to like Sam but his footwork is atrocious and will keep him from getting his passes in rhythm. What I love about the guy is that he keeps his eyes downfield and scans the coverage quickly. He also gets off some good pre-snap reads. But his mechanics are just awful.
Is it easier to teach mechanics?

Because some guys simply lack the ability to see downfield or read a defense. And never figure those things out.

The Lions are the Seattle Mariners of the NFL. I'm not surprised that they would think it a good idea to pay elite QB money to a non-elite QB.
