Everything I've read about Macdonald is that the players love him. He is revered by coaches, but the players dig him, too.

I think we hit a home run here... got the best coach, had a strong draft, picked up Howell as opposed to drafting a QB... I'm liking it all.
I guess i mischaracterized your opinion of how well the team will play this year in the position groups rating thread. Sounds like you have them winning 10+ games. I blame Zoltar for this.

That's completely understandable as I do have them rated pretty low (that's the cautious side of me). But speaking to the coaching aspect, I think we're in great shape. How well it all translates to the field is yet to be seen.

And as you mentioned, the players need to 'buy in'. But I can't think of a reason why they won't.

Corbin Smith with FAR better roster prediction. Zero Dees makes it and Westover makes it as a 4th TE.

That article is spot-on. This team was stagnant and languishing under PC. I think they've made improvements across the board from coaches to other personnel to players to implementing a new system.

We'll see, but how that adds up to 7-10 from the "pundits," when we sucked last year and were 9-8 is beyond me.

I doubt Schneider will cut Eskridge in favor of Young after using a 2nd round pick on him. Also just 3 RBs seems a bit risky and if Halani looks good in the preseason they probably won't risk losing him off the practice squad.

Agree on both points.

Here is another good one. This one is regarding huge investments on D Line. Maybe next off season they spend on the O line....

Jones is really getting overpaid now that he's just a situational edge rusher. If they cut him after this coming season it will clear up $16.5 mil in cap space.

I am sure they will unless he goes off this season.

I'm assuming they will want both Williams and Murphy out there together, but the question is who will they stick at nose tackle between Murphy or Reed. If it's Murphy then who will the second DE be? I would assume Reed would then be a rotational/depth guy, but he did play off-tackle (or whatever) in the 4-3 during his first stint with Seattle and there's also that Hankins guy who can only play NT.

Looking at various websites with depth charts they seem to think the most likely alignment is Reed at NT and Williams and Murphy at DE. I don't really get that since Reed originally played 3-tech (smaller) DT in Carroll's 4-3, didn't he? They played him at NT last season only because Woods left, Mone was injured, and Young wasn't ready or able.
