Sweat would be ideal for this club. but for a MUCH smaller investment, so would a number of shorter term guys - like Hankins or, remember him, Big Al Woods. Just need any massive two-gap hole plugger to stand his ground and occupy blockers so Williams/Jones/Reed/Uchenna can do their thing as the backfield disruptors.

Should the Seahawks be looking at WR? I'm as guilty as anyone of focusing on just next season and their immediate needs, but Lockett may retire soon and DK could be gone after this season if they need the cap space (would clear $18 mil) and will probably leave anyway in 2026.

I just don't see how we don't trade back. Both times I have not accepted trade back offers, I ended up with Latu, but overall the draft has been less than desired. This time? Before I got to pick again, Murphy fell to 49, Sweat to 51 and Penix to 61. I could have ended up with at least one of them and still had a similar draft....just more thank likely wouldn't have gotten Latu.

The scouting report on Frazier has him being physically imposing. Same thing for Mason Smith. And I know we don't need a RB, but I have been a HUGE Corum fan for some time now.

Is "Edge" the same as OLB in a 3-4, or is it a separate position with a player that takes the place of (or plays alongside) an OLB or DE? I go to various sites that list rosters and there's no consistency to how the term is applied.

Way above my pay grade. I assume it is both. LOL. He would have to play some of both here anyway, wouldn't he? I don't think he is just an OLB. I mean, if he played in a 4 - 3 he would be mostly DE, right? Could be that he isn't a fit here, but I like him. And was a value at that spot. But your question is a valid one, and one that I assume MacDonald is more equipped to answer for our organization.

Wiki says both
Players considered to be edge rushers are usually 4–3 defensive ends or 3–4 outside linebackers. Note that 3–4 outside linebackers often act as an extension of the defensive line, in that they will attack the offensive tackles or blocking tight ends on the majority of their snaps under a majority of 3–4 schemes, though it is not uncommon to see them drop back and play a more traditional 4–3 linebacker role as well.[2]

One reason the word "edge" is used in the term "edge rusher" is that edge often refers to the area outside of offensive tackles, but within a couple of yards of the line of scrimmage. While other positions will rarely be referred to as edge rushers, other than 4–3 defensive ends and 3–4 outside linebackers, it is common for defensive backs, traditional linebackers, and even defensive tackles to occasionally play the position on a play-to-play basis.[3]
