It seems that where the Dust Bowl is concerned, FDR's programs were aimed toward farmers. Most of the people in that region were not farmers. Where the Great Depression is concerned, that was a long, slow process in getting people out of that. They didn't go into the Depression and then suddenly get out of it. People, white and black, suffered for many, many years. If blacks were denied benefits then that was really wrong, and it's surprising that someone like FDR would be like that. Are we sure about that one? Not denying, just asking.

Also, if you were black and lived either in the South or the cities at that time at least you still had the familiarity of your way of life (which isn't to say it was good but at least it was familiar, there was community, and there's comfort in that) as opposed to white folks who saw their lives turned upside-down by the dust bowl. Not to mention whites who committed suicide because of The Great Depression. Poverty is poverty. Being poor sucks no matter what color you are and even today there are a lot of people of all colors who are born poor and die poor.

This country will aid, promote assist aid etc. Anyone who will denounce the Black American descendants of slaves. Especially black immigrants from other countries. Skin tone had nothing to do with the opression of Foundational Black Americans.

You used the term "Sub Saharan " in another post. Someone has been indulging in white supremacist propaganda. The fact that there are people making specific "talking points".which can easy be debunked. I cannot give you a more specifis example of systemic racism.

I agree bit the only benthic group where it is abomination to get reparations is Black Americans. Jewish Americans received reparations for the Holocaust. US didn't even commit that atrocity. Native Americans still receive reparations. Japanese Americans received reparations for the internment camps during WWII .

You're right being poor sucks . It especially sucks if there is a bias designed to keep you being poor.

Reparations are for more than slavery. And the oppression of Black Americans is still prevalent today.

No it isn't. What is prevalent among the black population of this country is a rotten culture and values that has resulted in an epidemic of fatherless children, high school dropouts, and gangsters. Keep blaming white people and not adressing their own behavior and black people will continue to have issues with poverty and incarceration.

It's not that simple, if you're an East African you've got to really sell it. You have to get yourself a beret, a scarf, a man-purse, talk like Pepe LePew, and do that thing where you put your thumb and finger on your lips and pull them away while making a kissing sound. To ensure success you should go to the local bath house, lean on an umbrella and pull a handkerchief out of your sleeve. Voila, working the system.
