Re: Pick'em league
Every time they settled for a kick in that game my son and I laughed. Yesterday seemed like a record day for missed kicks, and these guys acted like long kicks are the best option. Both teams opted for long kicks on fourth and short, if I recall, and Green bay, I think, even opted to kick once on third down.

Re: Pick'em league
How crazy is the NFL? Denver is playing a backup QB, their third string tailback and a banged up WRing crew. The defense that got torched for 37 points against the Cardinals then goes off. I didn't watch it, but a buddy of mine pretty much says Vic Fangio is an idiot. I mean, Denver, with pretty much no injuries, get 38 yards on 12 carries from their two starting RBs, Teddy Two Gloves slings it 33 times, at barely over 5 yards per attempt. I would say "who knew?", but it looks like based on the picks in here? I am the only one that didn't.
It would be like us playing with Geno, DJ Dallas and both Lockett and DK injured, playing against a team with two good backs and watching them throw it all game. WHo wouldn't have beaten Denver last night? Big mistake on my part. Shit, three of you put 9 on Cleveland! WTF? 9 on a backup QB, 3rd string back and no healthy receivers? No wonder I don't gamble.

You mad bro?
You're right, though. I had forgotten that Mayfield was out and had no idea about their rb/wr situation and still only put 3 points on Cleveland.

Haha, mostly mad at myself. Like I said, it is a good thing I don't gamble. I know the game was in Cleveland, and I know that Case Keenum has had some success in the NFL. But it was all in Minnesota, when they were pretty damn good. What I wasn't prepared for was Denver being really shitty! Like I said, didn't watch it, but a buddy of mine basically said Fangio should lose his job!Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 5:45 pmYou mad bro?![]()

On a positive note, I did pick up the RB from Cleveland in my Fantasy League, and had my wife do the same in hers....so I got that going for me!

Had no idea about their injuries. better to be ignorant and lucky than good. lolSibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 5:45 pmYou mad bro?![]()

yeah, i kind of lucked out there - made my pick before i heard Mayfield was out, and wasnt aware of the RB injuries either - have been way less connected this year during a moving transition. still i think Case Keenum has always been underrated, and the Denver 3-0 start was fools gold based on their schedule.Michael K. wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 6:05 pmHaha, mostly mad at myself. Crazy thing about this week - so many lopsided games! i kept wanting to reassign the highest point value as i saw them all come up, then realized that the top 4 or 5 are all basically locks so the order between them doesnt really matter.

Haha. I read an email from yesterday that I get with a lot of NFL news in it. Three guys made picks on that game and all three took Denver. I am pretty sure Cleveland was still the favorite though, so they more than covered!D-train wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 6:15 pmHad no idea about their injuries. better to be ignorant and lucky than good. lolSibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 5:45 pmYou mad bro?![]()

Shit.
I totally missed putting my picks in before Thursday.
Been a HELL of a week at work.
Hopefully my other picks will make up for it.

I made my pick 30 minutes before the game started and the site had Cleveland as a 3.5 point favorite.Michael K. wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 7:50 pmHaha. Oh snap, not sure what I was thinking there. Yeah, that last TD by Denver, Cleveland probably didn't cover. They would have if the back scores at the end.
Does anyone else comprehend why a TD would put you up two scores the RB falls down? I am just bitter because I have him in Fantasy, but they are flat out over thinking shit anymore. I hope he misses a performance bonus by one TD this year and deeply regrets it!
Of course, it would have all been for not since they flagged Cleveland on the play, but still....if you are about to go up ten points on a TD, just score already. I wonder when one of these guys will blow a knee or fumble while sliding down and the entire NFL world switches gears again. How many teams have actually scored a late TD to go up two scores and then lost because they didn't run out the clock?
It is like Pete Carroll is coaching everywhere and you can't score points early because you can't win the game yet!
