Time for Jason Peters to hang'em up for good? And how about that secondary? Good grief they were terrible (according to PFF).
Darrell Taylor the only defender that got more than 10 snaps
and a grade above 65.
I'm not a huge fan of our scheme. Either the other teams are incredibly good at getting great matchups, or we have no idea how to devise a defense that will allow our better cover guys to cover their pass catchers. I spend so much time wondering why we had a LB there, or a fucking SS here, that it blows me away. Maybe that happens all the time, and I just see it more because I am watching the Huskies, but we seem to have no idea how to put our players in a position to succeed. I think that used to be covered up by a great to good pass rush back in the day, or covered up by the fact we had a lock down corner taking away half of the field and ET covering more ground than the Pacific. We don't seem to have any answer for the fact that we no longer have those studs.
I'm not going to pretend to say I have broken down the film, but I sure am sick of seeing safeties and LBs getting their asses kicked in coverage when we have CornerBacks on the roster for a reason. Sure, you can't play five CBs on every snap, but are our other guys so much worse in coverage than everyone else in the NFL, or are we just running a dumb ass scheme? Last night how many times did we hear "Seattle is going to make Dallas go on long drives, keeping everything in front". Dallas NEVER PUNTED. How well did that work out? One punt or one turnover in a one score game can make all the difference. Instead, we just watched them catch every pass and then tackled them for a first down. Where our DBs shitty or were they doing what they were asked to do? Reminded me of 2020 when we had to score 35 just to stay in games and were on pace to set NFL records for worst pass defense ever.
