I didn't know Ernest Jones was re-habbing and what was the criticism he received?
Josh Jones, when MM was asked about his status he said, he's not practicing. He's recovering from injury but MM didn't seem to think that was an excuse. It was generally viewed as MM slamming him. It seemed a bit harsh compared to the way they're handling charbonnet
When asked what’s Jones’ issue, Macdonald plainly stated, “He’s not practicing.”

“He’s just not ready to practice yet,” Macdonald said when asked if his absence is related to last season’s injuries. “So he needs to become ready to practice. That’s his responsibility.”
Jones getting the red headed stepchild treatment

And then they signed that other OT from San Diego to light a fire under JJ's ass I'm guessing.

Exactly... Jones was valuable last season. And the general approach is usually defending players, protecting them. Like Bradford, for all that controversy I don't think MM has ever indicated he didn't feel he was working hard enough

Talk about no respect! Barnwell is out with his annual skill position rankings, RB, TE, WR as a group for each team. The Seahawks are ranked 11th. What's interesting about that is it puts them last in NFC west. Rams are 2nd, 49ers are 5th, and the Cardinals 6th. It doesn't bother me, he's probably right. What it points to I'd say is it being a tough division

That article doesn't even mention Tory Horton, but for their #1 ranked Lions they bring up this guy...
And there were some bright spots from rookie wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa, who seemed to only be targeted on jump balls in the end zone. In reality, TeSlaa caught 16 passes for 239 yards and six touchdowns, and he profiles as a potential breakout candidate if there are enough footballs to go around in the offense this season.
In 17 games TH projected to 28 receptions for 340 yards and 10 TDs. But not worth mentioning.

The one thing I have learned after all these decades following sports is that the "Experts" are dumb as dirt.

That is unless they write something you happen to agree with. Personally I look for hopefully unbiased options, I'm not concerned about agreeing or disagreeing. There's a few sources i enjoy, the writers at espn I feel are professional, they put in the research. Yahoo sports for as silly as it might seem really seems to crank out thoughtful product, CBS sports. Some of the local bloggers that really make an effort. I come here for opinions like i look to ESPN for them, same thing in my mind

Horton could easily become the #2 WR for the Seahawks depending on how well he has healed from the shin issue and how much Kupp has left in the tank. If he wasn't worth mentioning in an article assessing the skill positions then the Seahawks are in big trouble this coming season. Personally, I think he can be a 50 ypg 10+TD type of receiver if he gets #2 snaps for at least half the season. I don't think anyone (that is reasonable) with any familiarity with the team from last year would disagree with that.

IMO this Barnwell guy lacks sufficient familiarity with all the NFL teams' rosters to attempt this kind of overall ranking. I'm sure he knows a lot but probably doesn't have sufficient time to research every player that is likely to make a roster and contribute. But, like countless other NFL writers/bloggers/pundits is required to churn out these types of articles throughout the offseason.

I won't mention every potential playmaker in each of the 32 blurbs below, so if an expected starter's name doesn't appear, know that he was still considered as part of the evaluation
If Barnwell isn't familiar with Horton then he isn't doing his job, I think he probably is. Thing is it's relative, you need to have knowledge of the entire league. That is what I look to from a guy like Barnwell. And again, all I took from it is how competitive the entire division looks. All four teams in the top eleven. I'm less concerned about actually ranking them. I would consider their RB room a lot shakier than the WR. That's the concerning one for me
