Re: Seahawks/Donkeys Game Thread
So many bad decisions this past off-season.
- throwing money at a receiver that can't run routes effectively enough to gain any separation despite having blazing speed because of a couple big kick returns(?)
- hiring a Tight Ends coach who had never run an offense even at the high scool level to be the OC (but has a really awesome beard)
- letting an elite RB walk either because they dicn't recognize his abilities or were scared he would get hurt if they gave him the ball more than 15 times a game
- using a first round pick to replace him on a guy who hadn't proven he could carry the load while in college
- not addressing the lack of a legit #2 WR unless they were dumb enough to think Shaheed, Kupp of Horton (coming off injury) was that guy

Re: Seahawks/Donkeys Game Thread
Why? He got fired for exactly what we fucking watched last night. A guy fall in love with the forward pass. Only difference is we averaged over 4 yards per carry last night, and Geno was less turnover prone. Saying there is no comparison is sticking your head in the fucking sand. Grubb had actually called an offense before. This Fleury guy was a gopher for two team's OC's and coached TEs! That's his experience with offense. Three years, two as an OQCC and one as a TE coach.
If Grubb was over his head, then Fleury is buried at the bottom of the fucking ocean.
I can't even imagine this place if we lost by three in OT with Grubb
1. RBs had 92 yards on 23 carries. Yep, 4 per carry.
2. The QB dropped back 58 fucking times, and threw two costly picks
Fleury is worse than Grubb, far worse. Again, that is the shit that got Grubb fired, and they obviously were right. But the ego to believe that it wouldn't matter who they replaced Kubiak with is awful. "Hey, this guy coached with Shanahan, let's hire him". Come to find out all he did for Shanahan was go on coffee runs!
58 fucking drop backs and 23 carries by RBs. And they lose in fucking OT, and only because the QB they trusted 58 fucking times threw two HORRIBLE INTs in the 4th Qtr and OT. Yeah, Fleury is light years better than Grubb? Holy shit man.
Darnold had 19 yards rushing and 278 yards passing to show for his 58 drop backs. They lost 38 yards on five sacks. So....58 drop backs resulted in 259 yards. 4.46 yards per drop back. Yeah, Grubb was the devil and Fleury doesn't belong to be in the same category. Did you watch last night?

Agreed.Michael K. wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2026 4:54 pmWe'd have won with Bo Nix. Think on that one. Check Down Charlie....they win with Defense and not putting their defense in a shitty spot. Take notes Seattle. Get the QB that doesn't lose the game for you. He was undefeated before you went back to the turnover king.
I'm not sure, either.

I'll be the first to admit, I called bullshit last year that they could just hire all these Kubiak guys to coach and all would be fixed. I was wrong. But to believe that after that, all they had to do was hire Shanahan's secretary? Fucking A.
Fleury is toast, but we have a Defensive Head Coach, so I am not sure who else is supposed to call the offense.

One has to think that MM can't be happy about his defense being compromised by the inept offense. Things have to change.
Re: Seahawks/Donkeys Game Thread
I'm not willing to blame Fleury as a bigger problem than Darnold. If he's no good, he will be fired at the end of the season.Michael K. wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2026 6:15 pmI'll be the first to admit, I called bullshit last year that they could just hire all these Kubiak guys to coach and all would be fixed. The Broncos have a good defense. Yesterday, they were arguably better than the Seahawks defense.
Fleury was bound to catch hell if the offense sputtered and they start losing games. Everyone can see Sam is sucking.
Everyone knows we lost Walker, Charb was out, and Price is hurt and possibly sucks. This shit isn't Fleury's fault and isn't helping
his offense.
Sam I can see with my own two eyes. He's playing like a pussy.

When you get hit 20 times because your O line can't pass protect it will affect your focus and your confidence. I'd love to see Purdy or Mahomes try to succeed running Fleury plays and with defenders in their faces 2 seconds after the snap.
Re: Seahawks/Donkeys Game Thread
Are you saying Sam is not to blame? That it's Fleury and the O-line? Sounds a lot like the old Geno discussion.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2026 7:16 pmWhen you get hit 20 times because your O line can't pass protect it will affect your focus and your confidence. Trust me, I'm not excusing Darnold's play. But to say that any mention of Grubb should be ignored is silly. Grubb would have been crucified for abandoning the run the way Fleury did yesterday. Fleury is helpless.trharder wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2026 6:58 pmI'm not willing to blame Fleury as a bigger problem than Darnold. Re: Seahawks/Donkeys Game Thread
The final interception had a perfectly clean pocket, so your argument is ridiculous. Unless you're saying Darnold is a complete pussy because they sacked him a few times earlier and frightened him into throwing that stupid pass. Hmmm, maybe you're on to something.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2026 7:16 pmWhen you get hit 20 times because your O line can't pass protect it will affect your focus and your confidence.
