If Anderson or Carter aren't there at 5 and Seattle cannot trade back, I'm starting to think they may take witherspoon. No one is talking about that or projecting it - which would be exactly what they want - that secondary would be the league's best, there are a lot of reasons why it would make sense. Pete would have his LOB 2.0. You could add the beef and buns later easily. There would be a lot of hand wringing on here, but that secondary would be set to dominate for the next few years - and they very well may want to go to a more 3-3-5 scheme. Imagine witherspoon an adams just punishing receivers - and the blitzing flexibility they would have. Be an interesting dynamic.SeattleAddict wrote: ↑Tue Apr 18, 2023 9:47 pmThe reason I think a CB is possible is because of all the big DLs with 2nd round projections, and the fact we have 4 picks in the first 2 rounds. We don't have to take the beef FIRST... sometimes you get the side dishes taken care of, then add the beef and buns later.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Tue Apr 18, 2023 5:05 pmI have a very hard time believing the Hawks will take a corner when the significant need is beef on the DL. Especially with their past drafting corners. They're hosting guys for visits which says something about their thoughts on the position, but I think it'll be much more likely that they add a corner with their 2nd or 3rd pick, hence my Ringo selection.
Ringo just fits the physical profile they've lacked from their right side corner since the LOB days.

I brought up CB months ago. They always wait for later rounds but either Gonzales and Witherspoon would give us two lockdown corners. Who needs a pass rush. lolauroraave wrote: ↑Fri Apr 21, 2023 12:37 pmIf Anderson or Carter aren't there at 5 and Seattle cannot trade back, I'm starting to think they may take witherspoon. They could theoretically still add that down the road - there are options. If Carter and Anderson are off the board, and I am now starting to think they will be, and Seattle cannot trade back, wouldn't he be BPA? I'd prefer carter or anderson, but assuming they are gone and we are "stuck" at 5 - who else makes sense? I see no chance they go QB. PC would love the witherspoon pick - but would JC? I still think JC's ideal scenario is a trade back IF those two aren't avail - but trade partners may be hard to come by. Witherspoon would not be a shitty option at 5. I question witherspoon pick mostly because adding him and the subsequent cap space spent on that position group may be prohibitive.D-train wrote: ↑Fri Apr 21, 2023 12:44 pmI brought up CB months ago. Re: Draft Simulator Thread
I am addicted to this stupid simulator. I am on it every day.
My favorite thing to do is to keep trading back and using those trades to upgrade the bottom part of my draft. For Instance, Tennessee offers me 11 and 41 for the 5th pick. I counter by leaving their offer and adding 237 for 228, 198 for 186, 154 for 147 and 83 for 72. Trade accepted!. I repeat this process several more times as we progress through the first round and eventually end up with no top end talent but a draft full of really strong picks. I think this one below is the best value I have managed so far. Nine 2nd rounders and the first pick of the third round.

It is a solid draft...the only hard no I see in Forbes, he has no weight to him and you know Pete likes CB's run supporting. I honestly think this years draft is lite on high end talent, but deep in solid NFL talent. That thinking makes your draft pretty damn good with nine 2nd rd picks.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 21, 2023 8:26 pmI am addicted to this stupid simulator. I am on it every day.![]()

Everyone should take a moment to laugh at their draft simulator picks.

just acknowledging this little nugget - nicely called. I thought the beef and buns would come 2nd and 3rd rounds, but they waited a little deeper than I'd hoped. The side dishes we got look pretty tasty, though!auroraave wrote: ↑Fri Apr 21, 2023 12:37 pmIf Anderson or Carter aren't there at 5 and Seattle cannot trade back, I'm starting to think they may take witherspoon. I'm still pissed I didn't switch from Gonzales to Witherspoon when I saw the visits. But I would have been way MORE pissed if we had taken a FUCKING Duck!SeattleAddict wrote: ↑Tue May 02, 2023 4:33 amjust acknowledging this little nugget - nicely called. Nice this one had Hall, Morris and Bradford in it.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2023 3:25 pm
Replace the last pick w. Daiyan Henley who wasn't listed in the simulator.
Morris, Bell, Bradford, Henley, Jammie are all players the Hawks have had pre-draft meetings with.
They had a meeting with Ringo at the combine and I wouldn't be surprised if they pick him to play their more physical right corner spot. They also had a meeting with JMS.
