Re: 2025 NFL Pick em Pool
If he gets fired he's still going to have problably another $30 MIL coming to him for the next two years. That's why I wonder if they might try to give it another seasonCaptain 97 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 25, 2025 4:39 pmThe dude will be 75 next season. Raiders are worth 9.3 billion I doubt Davis is worried about it. By the way I just curious how Davis originally built his fortune. Check this out;

Pretty much the same story as Jerry Jones isn't it. Jones began as the GM of the cowboys didn't he, ended up buying the team. I think its something like that.
Sure he can afford to fire Pete. And it can seem to be the obvious decision. You know they fired their last two HCs before Pete in their second seasons. Pete was hired as a stabilizing factor, it was supposed to be an end to their chaotic hiring. For it to end after a season is pretty wild.
Here's another suggestion to turn to Kubiak
“Last offseason, the Raiders missed out on Ben Johnson, who has led the Chicago Bears to an NFC North-leading 7-3 record and elevated quarterback Caleb Williams,” Moton added. “Spytek and minority owner Tom Brady should lead the charge for Klint Kubiak, who’s the play-caller for the Seattle Seahawks’ third-ranked scoring offense

I'm pretty sure I have every game picked and weighted perfectly to run the table this week. This is where I can dark horse this pool and stay close in the stretch, before winning it all in the playoffs and SB.

Wrong again. Jesus man is your Google in the shop or what?? Took me 7 seconds to find this. Yeah he can afford to buy the Dallas Cowboys on a GMs salary.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Nov 27, 2025 4:05 amPretty much the same story as Jerry Jones isn't it. Jerry Jones made his fortune primarily through oil and gas ventures, founding Jones Oil and Land Lease in Arkansas, which became highly successful. He used the profits from this business to purchase the Dallas Cowboys NFL team in 1989 for $150 million. His net worth is now comprised of the Cowboys, his oil and gas holdings, and investments in companies like Comstock Resources.

Re: 2025 NFL Pick em Pool
Yep, it was a few months after Jones purchased the team that he fired longtime general manager Tex Schramm and took over the controls.
Apparently the team is now worth over $12 billion, which is great for Jones but not so great for Cowboys fans. They haven't won a Super Bowl in 30 years. And the Raiders haven't won since 1983. Yikes.
It feels like the Raiders are going to be shit for a long time. I don't think Mark Davis has a clue. And so far the Brady factor hasn't been much of a factor at all.

Donn may have been thinking of Al Davis who was GM of the Raiders while still a minority owner.

Yeah I said I was working from memory. Well Jones bought the cowboys for $140 MIL, they are now considered to be worth $13 billion. I would say that's pretty much key to his wealth.
Yeah I was thinking of Al Davis. He was originally the coach, then went on to be commissioner, then a piece of ownership. Interesting the fortunes connected to the original afl. Why the interest in creating new leagues to begin with
