If you get an invite to the WH and don't go you are a fool. What a unique, once in a lifetime experience. Can someone explain the Trump joke? The only thing funnier to me than the 'women's hockey team' not going to the WH - is literally ANYONE pretending they give a shit about women's hockey. NO ONE cares. It's so hilarious. It's like the WNBA - an artificial league NO ONE cares about. But these buffoons feel the need to 'tell us stuff' as if their opinion about anything carries any weight on any level at all.

What's the joke that's "so offensive"? I'll be the judge of it's humor level. Kindly enlighten me so I can decide if I want to be offended.
Any one of those women would beat the shit out of your 5'7, poses in front of cars, ripped jeans clown ass.

You're so brave supporting misogyny. Fucking loser.

But that's who he is isn't it? He's the completely ordinary guy, that's who he represents. He eats at MacDonalds, puts ketchup on his over done steak and makes poor jokes about women's sports. The same sort of jokes are made here aren't they?
Ok I know this is a stretch but isn't he saying they have so much support that if he didn't invite them he would get impeached again. But the notion that he would even consider not inviting them is obviously bad.

I asked Grok AI to clarify this for me. I missed that this invite was for the State of the Union address, not just a visit to the White House. That doesn't clear Trump, but the SOTU is a specific date and time. Also, the bad-taste "joke" as much revolved around the history of Trump being impeached as any misogynist humor. Trump is a dumb ass who I voted for three times and would vote for him again if he was running against Kamala Harris. Allowing biological men to compete in women's sports is a much greater crime against women athletes.

what is the exact quote with context of what trump said about the women's hockey team while talking to the men's hockey team?

The exact quote from President Donald Trump occurred during a congratulatory phone call to the U.S. men's Olympic hockey team in their locker room, shortly after their gold medal win over Canada in overtime at the 2026 Milan Winter Olympics (on or around February 22, 2026). Both the men's and women's teams won gold in similar fashion against Canada.Trump was inviting the men's team to attend his State of the Union address (and/or related White House events), and he made a joking remark about also needing to include the women's team (who had likewise won gold but were not the direct recipients of that call). The most consistently reported and verbatim versions of the key lines across multiple sources (USA Today, NBC News, ESPN, The Guardian, etc.) are:"I must tell you, we're going to have to bring the women's team, you do know that?"
Followed by: "I do believe I probably would be impeached" (or slight variations like "I do believe that I would probably be impeached" / "I probably would be impeached") if he didn't invite them too.

This elicited laughter from the men's team players in the locker room (a video of which circulated widely and sparked backlash, with some men's players later expressing regret for laughing along). The context was celebratory and lighthearted on Trump's part—he was acknowledging both teams' achievements while extending the invite primarily to the men present—but critics (including U.S. women's hockey captain Hilary Knight, who called it a "distasteful joke") viewed it as diminishing the women's equal accomplishment by framing their inclusion as an obligatory or humorous afterthought rather than equal recognition. The women's team later declined the State of the Union invitation (citing scheduling/commitments), though Trump noted in his address that they would soon visit the White House. No sources indicate Trump directly congratulated or spoke to the women's team in a similar call; the remark was made in passing to the men.

That's it? Seriously? That's objectively funny. Good grief, anyone getting "triggered' by that needs to see a doctor.

Yeah, it's not really a stretch but it didnt go over well so I'd consider it a poor joke, humor is a difficult thing to pull off, probably best to leave it to the professionals. JS ran into that with his weird joke about negotiating with Walker at the parade

How is it any different than if he had mentioned the fact that no one of color is on that team? It was a horribly timed joke and was in poor taste, and if you don't understand that? So what, it really doesn't matter. But he is the fucking President of the United States and basically made a joke that would offend any woman that heard it. Let that sink in. Half the Country could take offense to what their fucking leader said. At the least that shows he is a fucking idiot.

Sorry, once again, as a guy that coaches woman's softball? I was offended. And it is horribly concerning when that kind of ignorance comes from the President. I've talked to some father's of female athletes, they feel the same. It was insensitive and uncalled for.

I was laughing when I wrote that, thinking about the idiot that tried to make a joke out of JSN's name at the awards ceremony, the professional comedian. That was the dumbest of the bunch.

I can’t stand the orange turd in the whitehouse, I think ALL politicians should stay the eff out of sports achievements and celebrations. When the Hawks went to the WH to see Obama after 48 it was cringey. When Seattle politicals were in the parade for 48 it was gross. I didn’t watch the parade for 60 but I can guarantee all of the political turds were there.

I watch sports to escape politics, wars, and the other associated BS.
