Here's a pretty good review of the edge situation. They do have options on their 53 man roster. And now you can sign FAs without it costing a draft pick

Next year's draft is going to be glorious. If we win the SB again this season and nail that draft we are definitely looking at a dynasty. Just that easy...

Not sure who you're quoting there, but I'm pretty sure I recall you stating that you believe Schneider was far more influential than Carroll in selecting players in the draft while Pete was here, so how do you explain the drafts from 2013 to 2021 and reconcile that with your above comment?Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sun Apr 26, 2026 11:34 pmI've brought that up, JS knows how to draft, build a roster.. This is how champions are built, two times over now in Schneider’s case with two completely different rosters, an NFL anomaly for a GM

Re: National grades are in
My main complaint has been that JS was unable to trade down from that 32nd spot. Seems to me that, based on his own remarks, he would agree that it was "unfortunate".
For the record, my overall grade for this draft would be a C+, but given I know almost nothing about the players drafted, I am hopeful that those who say they are better than their rankings (by draft pundits) know what they're talking about.

First time it has ever happened with same team.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sun Apr 26, 2026 11:34 pmI've brought that up, JS knows how to draft, build a roster.. This is how champions are built, two times over now in Schneider’s case with two completely different rosters, an NFL anomaly for a GM

We definitely have an edge issue next year but not worried about it this year. And we have 11 picks next year in a great draft so all good.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sun Apr 26, 2026 11:54 pmHere's a pretty good review of the edge situation. They do have options on their 53 man roster. That "garbage time" was generally the result of the Seahawks having the game in hand. In other words, the opponent knew they were going to run the ball, so it would have been harder, not easier, for the RB to gain yards. Of course Price is a significant upgrade, but one they might have made using a later draft pick to take him, or by drafting someone else like Washington.

Yeah, I think it could have been possible to have picked up another pick, but I don't see it as a big impact really. I think they wanted Price. I doubt they would have traded back much farther to wait to get him.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Mon Apr 27, 2026 1:25 amMy main complaint has been that JS was unable to trade down from that 32nd spot. This whole thing of giving a draft a grade the day after is seems kinda silly to begin with. JS went into the draft going last with four picks. The thing as I see it, he had a plan and I believe executed it, and that's even without being able to trade back at the beginning
I would call it a successful draft as opposed to giving it a letter grade. And it still remains to be seen how well it works. I'm satisfied with the draft, and it's only an aspect to the roster build. There's more off season to come
