Walker was impacted by injuries every year after his rookie year....and then had a big contract year. You can play in a game and still have an injury hold you back. No one who watched his second and third year here thought that he was durable.

After one week we fell behind with our backup RB, and the new guy had limited carries because of it...and the Cheifs over fed Walker because Mahomes is injured and they lead most of the way. This is no news. In three weeks when Walker is on the IR because of over use and Price isn't? Let's look at this again.

As for Shaheed? Right now he looks like a baseball player that got paid. I imagine he needs to be reminded that waiving your arm in the air isn't required on punt returns. His impact needs to be in special teams and he was about the least impactful player we had on Wednesday. That isn't a good sign.

Walker wasn't signing here because he wasn't going to get to be THE MAN. Time to move on.

Like I said after the first game, Price sharing reps with the practice squad guy was disturbing. This idea
you can plug any player into the system and the system will prevail could come back to bite JS in the ass.

It's not disturbing to me. Practice squad guys were instrumental in the NE win. I don't know what you mean by biting them. Their practice squad roster is important like ST is important. That depth is how you win a SB. Load management is an integral part of the system. They will manage Prices load like they managed Walkers last season. It got a healthy SB mvp for the last game of the season. And Price seems the kind of player that will buy unto the process

This notion that is guaranteed that Walker wouldn't been healthy if he play more last season is crazy to me. You think the Chiefs are idiots for giving him 20+ carries in game 1? They have won a few SBs too and don't seem to be worried about it. And people act like was is made of glass. He has been heathier than most RBs I imagine.

It's not guaranteed, it's the way MMJS seem to want to do things and they are the latest winners. The Chiefs can do it another way, that's fine, there's no single way. It could be interesting how it goes.

I really don't understand the issue. MMLS have an approach and it works. It doesn't fit what Walker was looking for. He's found a place where he can be happy. And the seahawks have a guy in Price I believe can be happy with how the seahawks operate. Walker could break the rushing record, good for him. It would mean nothing to me. If the chiefs win the SB good for them. All I care about are the seahawks and I'm happy with them. Man, the second guessing that goes on at this forum. Well said. I remember at the time commenting it was hugs and handshakes, congratulations on the SB and moving on. Everyone moved on, but now that he's had a great game for the chiefs regret begins. I could understand it if there was any sort of indication that things could have been different. If he had indicated an interest in returning. If there had been negotiations that broke down. There was nothing. He didn't want to return and the seahawks made no effort to bring him back. How can there be regret over something that just wasn't going to happen?

Speaking of...Bradford has made it clear he wants to stay with the seahawks. I didn't think there was going be much chance of that but who knows, that could be interesting.

The first thing to understand is he was never signing with the seahawks again because he wasn't getting the opportunity to run for 171 yards here to begin with. That's what this really turned on. His dissatisfaction with how he was being used. The other thing to consider is the comp isn't Rasheed, it's Price his replacement. Personally I am quite content with price replacing walker

I don't believe that for a second. The dude was literally trying to negotiate with Schneider during the Superbowl parade. If the Hawks would have made the same offer that Kansas city did, he would be here today.

That being said I think they made the right move in letting him walk. There is zero chance that Walker makes it through his contract healthy. I think Price will be the more productive player over the next 4 seasons.

Yes. I've always felt like you draft RBs, you don't pay them. If Charbo wasn't hurt? This philosophy would have played out perfectly right now.

what baffles me most about this thread is Shaheed was not signed to be Walker's replacement. You coauld have literally replaced "shaheed' with any player on the team needed an extension. Shaheed was brought in to help JSN - not Walker. Walker has ONE big game - and the lamentations are hitting hard - the knee jerk reactions agfter ONE WEEK are just too funny. Loved Walker - replacing him with a much cheaper version - especially knowing there are more players needing extensions - was the smart move and playsn into the long game planning of this team.

Be happy for walker - but him leaving is not some black eye on SEattle - it's utterly preposterous to suggest that after ONE GAME. The same people hang wringing today, will be praising the move the moment he goes 19 for 43 yards and no TDs - GUARANTEED. Like clockwork.

Near the end of the season last year, mostly after Charbs went down, Walker changed his running a little. He was more patient. He was trusting his blocks more. It was paying dividends. His best two runs in a game were just as likely to be between the tackles as the "bounce and go around" run. I thought it was a big enough deal to redefine where the ceiling was for K9. I thought there was good reason to kiss ass a little and do what K9 wanted to keep him on the team. He's not a dipshit like DK and Woolen. Anyone who could babysit drunk John Schneider at the SB parade can't be a bad guy.

I'm not but hurt it turned out the way it did. I think it's fun having a dude like Shaheed on the team too. I like Price so far. I'm just saying I think there was a good case to be made to pay him enough and promise him a higher percentage of the carries.
