I would take the 49ers path over ours...IF they had won the Big One, but probably our path over the Rams...now. Last year? Nope, but we have seen how soon the future can come when you mortgage it.

The 49ers are an oddity though. It has really been injuries for the most part that have held them back. And...imagine this scenario if Tart makes the INT in the NFCCG. The 49ers are the defending NFC Champs, if not the Super Bowl Champs. They had some down years, but even some of our up years were mediocre when you compare us to the top of the League. Those playoff losses proved it.
I'd counter that injuries have also been partially the reason for their success. They had years of suckitude that resulted in top draft picks, which they used to get some absolute studs. They filled their roster with top-tier talent at rookie prices... then they got a bunch of injuries resulting in underperformance, and they got MORE stud draftees. Then when they're healthy, they go deep into the playoffs - then back to sucking for a couple years and then on top again.

The Seahawks right now are setting up for this very thing that both the 49ers and Rams did with draft picks, without having the shit season. The Broncos are doing that for us. I would take the Seahawks path over all the others. The only thing I'd change is that one play that shant be mentioned.
I mentioned that in the next post. Similar to how the Colts got Luck since Manning was hurt.

Isn't it possible, or even likely, that the Rams will do as little as possible to defeat the Broncos given the impact of that game on our draft position?

I suppose. But they had nothing to play for last week either.

I would hope most guys either have pride or are in their walk year playing for their next contract as opposed to negatively impacting our draft position but maybe they play the scrubs.

You mean two games ago? It was a little too early then to be thinking about the draft perhaps? Given that this game could have a big impact on both their draft position as well as ours, not to mention the Broncos probably want our draft position to be as low as possible so that the trade won't look as bad, i don't have a good feeling about this game. Sure, the players will play hard on both sides, but i wonder how much effort the Rams coaching staff will put into it. Motivation will be on the Broncos' side.

I am glad that the Rams don't get anything for being bad this year.

Mortgaged the future for their SB win over a mediocre Bengals team. Have fun being shitty for a while a-holes.

Oh you're right. The Lions get the Rams' 1st round pick. That's good. Very good.

Yeah, should have been more specific. They were missing Donald and Kupp and not only Stafford, but played just about every down with a QB who had been there less than two days. And came back and won. You can bench guys or what ever, but the guys on the field are still going to try to win, and so is McVey. They seem to want to compete. Not sure I believe that about a Broncos team seemingly revolting from their QB. If Russ is back? I think the mere sight of the Rams pass rush throws him into convulsions from PTSD and he stinks up the joint.

Naw. The players will play as hard as they can always. Their pride and livelihood depend on it. Same for coaches. No reason to tank a game when you could get fired before it has any impact. Upper management/ownership though... still probably no unless you happen to be the Dolphins or Redskins.

Yeah, too bad DK can't run the route tree. His long-stride straight-line speed won't translate at the next level
