Life with Darnald sounds pretty exciting
. The Vikings had a chance to earn the No. 1 seed in the NFC, but were blown out 31-9. As a result, Minnesota had to settle for being a Wild Card team, where they were also blown out 27-9 by the Rams. In those two games, Darnold completed 43-of-81 of his passes for only 411 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He was also sacked an astonishing 11 times, including nine by the Rams.
Spotrac is estimating a potential contract for Darnold would likely pay him roughly $40 million per year. A hefty investment to give a player with literally only one good season to show for it, and it's not like Darnold will still have offensive guru Kevin O'Connell calling his plays anymore. Additionally, Darnold would also be playing behind a considerably worse offensive line and if Seattle does end up trading DK Metcalf he will have less weapons than he did in Minnesota
