I was upset with the first down ruling on the QB slide, as well as the announcers' agreement, citing where the ball was when the knee hit.
So i looked it up, since i had always heard ball is supposed to be spotted where the carrier *begins* his slide, not where he makes contact.
from what i google that is still the rule, so even the retired ref rules judge got it wrong - the slide started behind the line to gain.
what am i missing here? (and yes, i believe that contributed to the TD drive, assisting a comeback)
