The Seahawks made Nick Mullens look like Joe Montana out there today. Good thing he didn't get the start or we may have given up 40. Good win though, all things considered.
They completely stopped pressing, and really dialed back the blitz. I doubt they do that if they weren't up three scores and facing a backup defense. I think they went into clock mode. It worked, I mean we won by two scores.

Watch the first three quarters. It was so nice to see...creative blitzes, press coverage...that all ended after the last TD. Mullens didn't see the same looks that Jimmy G did.

What I didn't like was the fact that the D Line is helpless without the blitz and the missed tackles. But still? Watching the first three quarters was so fun. Add Dunlap, Adam's and Griffin?

I also thought Jordyn Brooks looked pretty good. I'll happily eat crow if he becomes worth a first round pick. I still just don't think you can use a first round pick on a defender that doesn't impact the passing game.

Well if you hate all of our running backs that have been drafted we might want to give Carson a contract as opposed to trying to replace him with another shitty draft pick
Where is the money coming from? Who walks so Carson can stay? We just won a game, mostly a blow out, with one of the worst RBs I have seen wear a jersey for us in some time. You believe we should spend on the guy who couldn't play today, left the Dallas game, and missed December and January last year?

It's not a matter of liking the other backs, but where do you suggest they find the money? Three of the top ten paid backs last year made the playoffs, and non of the top 7. Two of them played for the Texans and the other was on the IR for the 49ers. Paying backs? Why?
I would sign him over Griffin and then draft a CB with our first pick. So if we don't pay him then we are relying on even more injury prone and less productive Penny, your fav Dallas or relying on our amazing skill at drafting RBs and them as rookies. Pick your poison.
With which one of the two or three draft picks we might have by then?

Sorry, the way we play offense now? RB might be the least important position on the field.

So you are good with Dallas then? :)

If you think Penny is a feature back... I don't know what to tell you. He's not.

Penny has only handled a load of 10 carries or more 5 times in 19 games. He's had a career riddled with injury... Carson? 31 times in 4 seasons.

Plus Carson is a bruiser... he's a back that's going to win you possessions. Penny is horrific between the tackles and the vast majority of his highlight runs have come far on the exterior or reversing field. Which is why he's a 3rd down back... and we don't even know if he's that at this juncture post his horrific knee injury.

As I said before, they have $21 million in cap space for 2021.

That goes to $30 million if they don't keep Dunlap.

That goes to $40 million if they don't keep Reed.

Both are extremely likely cap casualties following 2020.

Priorities are likely to bring back KJ, Carson, Pocic, Ford and possibly Shaq or Dunbar.

If Dunlap likes it here, cut him and re-sign him on a team friendly deal.

I can see a 3-year $21 million contract for Carson with $14 million guaranteed rather easily getting done. The Hawks know what they have there. He's been very dependable... just 5 games missed the last 3 seasons and he's a great asset to this team.

I thought Deejay looked pretty good for a 4th string rookie. He certainly didn't look like a superstar, but he looked better than Penny did his rookie year, and he had a full pre-season to learn the offense.

Carson says he's a top-5 RB, and he might be... but he can't stay healthy enough to merit top 5 RB money. I don't see the Seahawks paying the kind of money he'd want. As for letting Griffin go and drafting a CB, how about DJ Reed? He played a heckuva game.

And while I'm at it, I'm going to call out all the Bobby Wagner haters out there - he looked like the HOFer that he is today.

That is the deal I was thinking of for Carson. And he is only 26 so he will be just 29 in three years. Beats giving Alexander an 8 year deal when he was 28.5 yo. lol

Looks good for a fourth stringer is a shit ton different than bye bye Penny!

I dont like Penny, and there is no way he gets a second contract. But if both are available? There is also absofuckinglutley no way Dallas takes carries fro. Penny.

You dont have to like Penny, but to say the kid we saw they to get Russ killed two weeks in a row and averaged under 3 yards per touch should stay and Penny should walk? Nope.

I wouldn’t pay either big money.

Put Reed there. Let Griffin walk. He isn’t anything special. Spend money on DEs. Period.

Carson just never ever stays healthy. Penny and his weight and injury issues, let him go after his rookie contract. Penny if it isn’t his weight it’s his broken finger, or his hammy, or his knee. I’m still pissed he got fat after getting drafted in the first round. Shows his dedication, real dedication

Deejay is just. Third string RB. No burst.

Hard decisions coming. Dunbar and Griffin both FAs. We have 34 under contract next year and 19.1 million in cap space. It can be 30 million if we cut Dunlop.

We can’t pay Diggs,Dunbar, Griffen, and Adam’s. I think there is money for 2 of 4.

Interesting times

Bobby has played one fantastic game and 6 so so games. I’ll reserve judgement imo if he’s back to the impact player. Adans did the same thing. Fantastic then not so fantastic. Clowney did the same thing against the niners and then was less effective last year. So if that makes me a hater fine. But, up to this game Has Bobby played like a 18 million dollar player?
