After hearing his reasoning I wasn't quite as critical, but his reasoning is also a bit flawed. He said that since their kicker had struggled, he didn't want to give them more time to get closer. Also said that one time they would have used a timeout the back was pushed out of bounds and the other time they threw incomplete. That is all find and good, but there was like almost a minute and a half when the Titans got a first down, I believe inside the twenty. At that point, how much closer do they need to get for the kicker? I would have used the first one right there.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 15, 2020 5:35 amTalk about terrible clock management in tonight's game. Trailing 14-13, the Titans got a first down at the Broncos 16 yard line with about 1:20 left. The Broncos had all three of their timeouts but coach Vic Fangio totally puckered his sphincter. Even in doing the Broncos a favor by throwing an incomplete pass, the Titans kicked the chip shot with :17 on the clock and Fangio holding three useless time outs. If he had called them (and of course you have to get a stop too), his offense would have had just under a minute to try to get into field goal range.
Needless to say, the Broncos ran out of time at their own 43 yard line. What an idiot.

Re: Seahawks vs Falcos game thread
The Titans I believe had all three of their time outs, or at least two, and they really only needed to have one to stop the clock to set up the kick. Wow, what an explanation. That reminds me of what Darren said a few years ago about how a coach does something really stupid and then after the game he has PTSD and he's standing there in front of the press trying to make sense of what he did and he just starts babbling nonsense, like Pete Carroll with that glazed look in his eyes explaining the Super Bowl play call, or a few years ago when Carroll was trying to explain the incomprehensible fake field goal shovel pass to Luke Willson from the 17 yard line with no time on the clock at the end of the first half.
