Saw the play where Brees was injured and looked over at my son-in-law and said I've seen injuries like that before. Playing DE, basically a quick, pass rush specialist at Western, I used to aim for the ball and if I missed blocking the pass, I aimed for the QB's outstretched fingers. Dislocated a few of them and once broke a guy's finger. From my point of view, it was no big deal. If I was the QB or the opposing coaches, I would have been pizzed!

Brees likely strained a ligament, it being his thumb. Dislocated? probably not. Maybe a fracture, though. I'd be surprised if he plays next week. Bridgewater is more than an adequate replacement.

Hopefully we face a Brees-less Saints next week
I want their best shot. Hopefully he is ok.
Five other teams, at least, will not get their best shot also.

Russ got it done today. If they didn't pick up Clawson they'd probably be 0-2 today. The Hawks will be better when Reed returns.
Four more games to go. Two tough ones with the Saints and Rams and two we should handle without him with the Cards and Browns.

Should be a Breeze without Brees.
