If your going to acquire an edge, swing big. See what Chargers want for Tuli Tuipulota. Unless John wants to swing big again call up his buddy Dodds & see if he'll do a swap of RB's plus a pick. Charbs & a 3rd or 4th plus a 2028 whatever for JT. I'd honestly be calling about TT though. If you can swing for a premier edge you do it. John ain't afraid to make the big move. I don't know how hard their looking at WR but at the moment I'm lead to believe their not looking that direction.

So I have to give Donn Beach his due here, he was the first one to say hey, instead of a running back let's trade for Nelson which resulted in a hmmm, sounds like a very good idea and the Hawks have made it so.

I don't know if i'd call a 3rd and 5th pennies for a rental. If they can extend of re-sign him then definitely a good deal. They must not have been happy with Zabel''s lack of improvent this year.
Zero chance he doesn't get resigned. That would be a JS priority- obviously. He's not an idiot. Probably already in talks with the agent to gauge cost. I can see something like a four year extension for 65/75 heavy on bonuses to keep it cap friendly. Yeah, they got him on the cheap. Remember that we have a lot of draft capitol this year. There is a good chance we lose bradford to someone like the jets who will make him the highest paid lineman in the league

Do you really think JS isn't playing the long game here? This is a great move. Like when we picked up shaheed last year and he turned out to be invaluable to the SB run. It was a game changer. This could be too.
Hes being projected more like $100 mil over four years. You're 100% certain JS is planning to pay that for a guard...ok
He paid 17 million for a wr who struggles to play WR. 25 mill fir an all pro guard!!! Hell yes

We'll see, I think we should be content with it being a rental. It's a heck of an upgrade just in that sense.

The seahawks are blitzed more than any team in the league. It occurred to me, a connection there

could an nfl team defend against blitzes by improving the talent at guard

Yes, improving talent at the guard position is one of the most effective ways an NFL team can defend against blitzes.
While tackles handle edge rushers, guards are the anchors of the interior offensive line. Upgrading this position directly neutralizes internal pressure, which is the fastest and most disruptive path to a quarterback.
Here is how elite guard talent shuts down blitz schemes

Go watch how Bekson peals off blocks to stop. Other rushers. Pretty outstanding.

Hell Bradford just stands there. And poor Zabel has been getting whooped all year. This is huge.

How do you counter blitzes you add an extra OL or FB or TE. The better we run the ball the more effecient offense we'll have. Bootlegs & roll outs all day. No more straight drop back I'm good there. Can we add our version of the Philly Special please I'd love to see Sam catch a few passes here and there.

OK guys I need to know. With 9ers adding Buckner where do Hawks go to add another edge? I need names. You already know where I'm at. I've already heard 1 no on Mack.

Getting one of if not the most dominant guard in football!!!

Great fricking move by John.

Can really fix an average at best line.
Some how JS was able to to top Jerry's Taylor Ward deadline trade.....
