Is there even a screen pass in the entire Seahawk's playbook?

Jesus....I just can't, for the life of me understand how this team continually ignores a play that is built to slow down the front 4 and actually make them play honest. For all those years under Bevell with the crappiest of offensive lines, the only screen he ever did (and way too much) was that effing bubble screen that does nothing to slow down a defensive line.

The reason why N.O. is so successful year after year in my honest opinion, is that they practice and execute a huge variety of screen plays that the defense has to be wary of. All we do is line up in shotgun formation play after play after play after play and hand the ball off. Even if a screen pass utterly fails, at least if gives the DL something extra to have to think about instead of just all out bull-rushing.

agreed on the need for more, but dont think there's as much squandered opportunity as you might think. screens work best against blitzes, with fewer defenders left to defend. Our pass pro leaks have often been surrendered to just a 4-man rush, with the likes of Aaron Donald, Chandler Jones and DeForest Buckner just destroying their would-be blockers in their individual "battles".

They run screens. Maybe not as often as you like. There are dimensions to the screen pass that aren't in the Hawks favor . One asking a 5'11" QB to throw over rushing lineman is flirting with disaster. Two I don't think the line is really mobile enough to execute that play. Maybe Jamarco now. But Fluker or Iupati? No way. And 3rd Hawks might not like them. I hate that play. It takes a breakdown by the defense for it to be successful.

While I might agree that the line isn't good enough to execute that kind of play, I'm just saying having that threat and to demonstrate it might open up other things. Your argument of a 5'11" QB throwing over rushing linemen is kind of ridiculous, as Drew Brees has been doing it 4-10 times a game for quite a few years now. If Russell can't execute a simple screen play (which I'm quite positive he can), then he shouldn't be in the NFL.
