Here is the other side questioning the recants. Brings up my suspicion about possible bribery.

Jesus bribery on top of armed robbery? Was Longest Yard his favorite movie or something?

The prosecutor in Florida has a real dilemma here. If the alleged victims from the police report against Baker and Dunbar signed sworn affidavits for the defense, he can’t bring a case like that. He would legally have to drop charges unless police uncover compelling new evidence.

Seems like reasonable doubt has already been established. Also seems unlikely witnesses would be willing to testify.

Suppose the police have 20 affidavits supporting the armed robbery? Suppose the affidavits are all buddies of Dunbar?

If they don’t have the victims and it’s just some witnesses support cops story and some support the players, it’s not a strong enough case without any other evidence

So what the victims are now subject to filing false claims; of within the week they’ve changed their statement, or it’s signs of duress. We’re are talking about statements of arm robbery and recantation just days later sounds more complex.

interesting, so yeah, witness tampering, though I doubt they feel intimidated, probably more kiss and make up. Maybe offered something, Baker and Dunbar must be popular local guys, doubt they want to be seen as being the ones to send them to prison for twenty years. So assuming they stand up to pressure from the police and the case is dropped, does that mean the NFL moves on as well? I guess so, so looking better we have a corner

no way the league is gonna let Baker skate on this. guess Dunbar has a better chance given there is much more question surrounding his intent, weapon possession, and degree of involvement. still think even he may be looking at missing a couple of game checks, hefty fine at minimum.

Here is his statement. btw Reed got 6 games last season for a lesser crime that he wasn't convicted of.

Reed wasn't even CHARGED.
Rapoport said the suspension stems from an incident in early 2017, and Reed's appeal was denied last Friday. Reed faced a domestic-violence charge in April 2017, where a woman alleged that Reed assaulted her in a Bellevue home. Reed was never charged or arrested in the incident.

yeah, the NFL does its own investigations, they have a lower level of guilt so to speak, like a civil suit, lower bar, think OJ.

As I have mentioned, this was nearly an identical crime as OJ and he did 9 years. This isn't a DUI or DV. Armed robbery is usually 5 years minimum for first offense.

okay, I meant OJ being held responsible for the murder in a civil court. His wife's family getting the judgement against him even though he was found innocent in a criminal court. The NFL can set a lower bar
