The prosecutor in Florida has a real dilemma here. If the alleged victims from the police report against Baker and Dunbar signed sworn affidavits for the defense, he can’t bring a case like that. He would legally have to drop charges unless police uncover compelling new evidence.

Seems like reasonable doubt has already been established. Also seems unlikely witnesses would be willing to testify.

Suppose the police have 20 affidavits supporting the armed robbery? Suppose the affidavits are all buddies of Dunbar?

If they don’t have the victims and it’s just some witnesses support cops story and some support the players, it’s not a strong enough case without any other evidence

So what the victims are now subject to filing false claims; of within the week they’ve changed their statement, or it’s signs of duress. We’re are talking about statements of arm robbery and recantation just days later sounds more complex.

Rapoport said the suspension stems from an incident in early 2017, and Reed's appeal was denied last Friday. Reed faced a domestic-violence charge in April 2017, where a woman alleged that Reed assaulted her in a Bellevue home. Reed was never charged or arrested in the incident.

yeah, the NFL does its own investigations, they have a lower level of guilt so to speak, like a civil suit, lower bar, think OJ.
