This is the incident that I remember most about him.

Ok but is that an "incident" ? Does that justify less accomplished QBs getting more money?D-train wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 1:42 pmThis is the incident that I remember most about him.

Just saying there is more to the equation than just pure football talent. Not comparing him to Clowney, Gordon or AB but there is a reason those guys will make far less than what they would make if talent on the field was the only consideration. 31 other teams could have beat the Pats offer and didn't think he was worth it.ThePro wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 1:53 pmOk but is that an "incident" ? Maybe Cam has spent the last 20 years fantasizing about playing for BB. Who knows everything that came into play.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 2:39 pmthe Pats got a deal, doubt that indecent had anything to do with it. Cam's injuries, the situation with competing clubs, but probably COVID had the most to do with it. Cam basically fell in their laps.
31 other teams don't need a QB. The ones that did paid more for lesser QBs. So it's not a matter of teams "Thinking he's worth it"D-train wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 2:10 pm

Maybe when they considered everything they felt he was the lesser QB. What is the other possibility?ThePro wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 3:04 pm31 other teams don't need a QB. So, in other words, the market dictated what he was worth?ThePro wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 3:04 pm31 other teams don't need a QB. The ones that did paid more for lesser QBs. So it's not a matter of teams "Thinking he's worth it"D-train wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 2:10 pm

None of those actions effected his contract. That's just your personal dislike of him. His contract is well below market value for a starting QB with his resume.Michael K. wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 3:29 pm

Cam said people didn't like him celebrating because he was black, he was only having fun. He made it about race, not me. He walked the remark back, but trust me...people hated him for the same reason people hate Baker. Then there was the time he laughed at the female reporter because it was weird to talk football with a woman. Then there was the pouty little baby act when he wasn't winning anymore. All he wanted us to believe was he acted like an ass on the field because he was having fun playing the game. Then don't act like a baby the next few years you are getting your ass kicked.
That was distracting off the field because it was talked about, a lot. He is no longer good enough to justify it. Or the distraction it would be to have him backing up your starter. Had to be the right fit. In other words, the market dictated his worth.
