He threw for over 300 yards today and at least one of the INTs was the receiver's fault. Thought he played well enough but the redzone play calling was terrible and that is on Waldron.

but, but... when he throws for 175 yards in a blowout win we should worry because of his statline, and when he throws for 300+ in a close loss we should worry because he didn't throw the game winner with 1000 lbs of humanity flying at him unblocked.

Jesus H. Rice (Jerry's cousin).

Geno's numbers:
27/41 323 0/2 (as you said, one of which was because DK just stopped and even at that was a helluva catch by the DB).

Other QBs this week:
Mahomes 30/40 306 1/1
Hurts 28/45 280 1/3
Russ 13/22/95 1/2
L Jackson 21/30 223 1/1
Tannehill 8/16 76 0/1
Lawrence 20/30 181 2/1
B Young 23/38 217 1/0
Cousins 21/31 181 1/0
Fields 6/10 58 0/1
Purdy 12/27 125 1/1
Watson 0/0 0 0/0
Stroud 13/27 199 2/1
Jimmy G 14/22 162 1/1
Mayfield 19/37 206 0/1
Stafford 15/24 226 1/0
Z Wilson 19/33 186 0/0

He didn't have a great game, but the only QBs that had objectively better games than Geno were Carr, Tua, and Goff.

He is taking the blame...
"I felt like the guys deserved to win today," Smith said. "Obviously, I didn't do my best job today to get that done. So those are things that I put on myself. I lay it right at my feet, right on my shoulders, and I look forward to the next opportunity."
"I just need to be better," Smith said. "Can't do that, especially in the red zone. Can't put the ball in harm's way. Like I said, the defense is playing a tremendous game. We got points right there. I've got to protect the ball. So I've got to be better."
On the interception DK seemed to give up on
"It's on me," Smith said. "Just another chance for us to go down there and make plays and score points with our defense doing great. Just didn't do the right thing on that play. Those are things that are not characteristic of the way I've been playing and I know that I can be a lot better. Like I said, I need to look myself in the mirror and figure those things out, so I will."
"As an offense, it really hurts," said Smith, who finished 27-of-41 for 323 yards and no touchdowns. "Especially as a quarterback, seeing those guys battle the way that they did. I think they only gave up like 50-something yards in the second half [52]. For us [to get] two or three opportunities to go take the lead and for us not to do it, that's on me. That's really on me. Like I said, I've got to be better and I will be."

What did you expect him to say, "DK fucked up the play and didn't run the right route" and "the offensive line did a terrible job in pass protection today"?

Geno's last 12 games: 18 TDs, 10 INTs. I think once the O-line gets a little more healthier he'll get a cleaner pocket.

Yeah, so of the passing plays and routes drawn up in critical downs or in the red zone where awful. Hell, the Bengals were playing zone with their LBs and we were running routes right into the zone coverage.

No expectations, just posting what he had to say. The alternative doesn't have to be blaming DK, the alternative to me is just not saying anything. Nothing wrong with taking responsibility, not sure every QB does that.

Sure but i wouldn't conclude much from it about who was mostly to blame on those plays.

You think Lock would put up better numbers than that? I don't.
