Free Agency thread
Re: Free Agency thread
Fant - 2 years, $21 mil
Re: Free Agency thread
Not crazy - he was a first round pick for a reason - better receiver than he has been utilized so far at either Denver (because of QB play) or here (due to playcalling). If you watched any UW games last two years you saw how Grubb finds the TE in the passing game, even while having stud wideouts to share targets - Dawgs and Hawks were similar that way.
Re: Free Agency thread
Only one brief mention about our big re-sign announced today on day 1: Big Cat gets ~$64.5M for 3 years - what y'all think?
i was certainly impressed with his play last year, not disappointed to see this. Unlike some past years they have significant talent and dollars invested in the interior - be interesting to see if MM can get more out of them than Hurt could. With this signing and the recent drafts of Young/Hall/Morris/Mafe on top of Uchenna and Dre, i dont see a whole lot of draft capital going to the DL this year. Which is good because of the huge holes at LB, S, and IOL. Fortunately seems to be a good year for the latter two positions.

Re: Free Agency thread
The number seems about right...I like it is only for 3 years. I think we needed to re-sign him to bring some stability to the line. I think Byron Murphy being added to the rotation would make a pretty decent DL57reasons wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 2:51 amOnly one brief mention about our big re-sign announced today on day 1: Big Cat gets ~$64.5M for 3 years - what y'all think?

Re: Free Agency thread
I think John saw the regression of Lewis and let him walk.
Got some oline work to do.

Re: Free Agency thread
I’d rather have him than Dissly for sure.57reasons wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 2:36 amNot crazy - he was a first round pick for a reason - better receiver than he has been utilized so far at either Denver (because of QB play) or here (due to playcalling). He was a first rounder, but is he really a first round talent?
5 years never above 673 and 4 tds.
I still want him, but he’s not lived up to a first rounder.
Re: Free Agency thread
yeah, interesting to see how much our Hawks are going for - 4-yrs $53M seems not a huge overpay for Lewis - could have matched if we wanted.
Grubb's running game features a lot of pulling OL and not sure that is Damien's forte - better in a phone booth.
curious to see how much cap left after the Fant and Leonard deals - should have at least $20k but need $4k of that for the draft.
IF they target Queen as everyone thinks, that shrinks down considerably, although Brooks didnt break the bank so maybe Queen doesnt either.
LB, G, S still huge holes to fill. fortunately those latter two are deep in the draft.
Re: Free Agency thread
Lol....and Fant is supposed to throw the ball to himself? On an offense the last 2yrs that threw to the TE sparingly. They targeted him 43 times last, that is less than 3 per game.Gametime wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 3:39 amI’d rather have him than Dissly for sure.57reasons wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 2:36 amNot crazy - he was a first round pick for a reason - better receiver than he has been utilized so far at either Denver (because of QB play) or here (due to playcalling). Maybe you should reevaluate him based on different metrics. He is also not our first rd pick....just the only Denver guy left over from the trade.

I prefer Parkinson, I think Fant is going to be expensive and to be honest I dont think he excells in blocking or catching but lets see what happen
About bringing someone back I hope they resign Lewis, but probably it wont happen
