They traded for RS before Horton was injured but he became the replacement. Honestly I hadn't considered that aspect. I had basically forgotten about Horton. The consensus does seem they are interested in bringing RS back but he does seem a bit redundant terms of Horton.

Are you sure about that, i thought it was mainly because of Horton's injury that they traded for him.

They had been trying to trade for him, it happened at the same time . I guess reading that they like having them both in the lineup, maybe that answers my question

Can you imagine both of them in the lineup taking the top off defenses with Barner in the slot & JSN out wide.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Feb 12, 2026 4:26 amThey had been trying to trade for him, it happened at the same time . Here's a thought, Rams are hinting at going all in next season with Stafford being both an MVP and at the end of his career. Where do the Rams need help, special teams, Rams go after shaheed. What would we think about that? Next season is going to be a slug fest
Snead said while there will be a "balance" with how the Rams continue to build their roster around Stafford, "The type of season he had, the type of season that he's still showing that he can have, there are only so many of those left. "Those are some moments that you want to take advantage of for sure."

Rams were 1st in points scored and 17th in points allowed. I think they will focus on defense.

It cracks me up, it's a run based offense and we have arguably the best WR in football eating up targets. But some how Shaheed's limited targets is a sign that he stinks and we shouldn't resign the guy who is explosive as Hell in the return game and will most likely grow as a field stretcher. And the reasoning to do so is because Horton shows signs the very limited times that he is actually on the field. We'd rather gamble that Horton, for the first time in his college or pro career mind you, is going to stay healthy?Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Feb 12, 2026 1:36 amI asked google, number of angles to it.
Inconsistent Targets and Usage: After joining the Seahawks, Shaheed experienced quiet games, including a Super Bowl LIX matchup where he had no catches in the first half despite being on the field.
Role as a "Field Stretcher": Reports indicate that while Shaheed's speed forces safeties to play deep, he has not always been the primary option in the passing game, often acting as a decoy to open lanes for other receivers like Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
Limited Route Tree/Technique Issues: Some analysis suggested he is primarily used as a "go-route" guy and has not always been a consistent separator in intermediate passing situations.
Offensive Line/Quarterback Pressure: Early in his time with Seattle, the offense struggled with quick pressure, limiting the ability to connect with him on deeper routes, thus limiting his opportunities to get open downfield.
System Adjustment: As a mid-season acquisition, he needed time to adjust to a new system in Seattle, which sometimes resulted in inconsistent production and fewer opportunities compared to the Saints' offense.
And the thought that a guy that scored three times in ST was a bad acquisition is laughable.

You're oversimplifying the argument. It is not, "Shaheed is not that good, so don't re-sign him." Obviously I understand what he brings to special teams.Michael K. wrote: ↑Thu Feb 12, 2026 5:55 pmIt cracks me up, it's a run based offense and we have arguably the best WR in football eating up targets. It has everything to do with the resources it will take to do so. Horton also had a PR for a TD. He also scored 5 TD's accruing similar targets as a wideout. Would he be as explosive as a KR as Shaheed? Likely not. A comparable wideout? It seems so.
Horton is going to cost you the league minimum to produce similar production. There's no way in hell I'm paying Shaheed $15M a year or whatever to primarily return kicks. That is a horrible way to allocate resources. He is not Devin Hester or Percy Harvin.

And maybe they won't resign him, I never said it's a guarantee they will. But acting like it would be ridiculous, and pretending it was a bad acquisition? Stupid.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Thu Feb 12, 2026 6:10 pm

It was a bad acquisition given his lack of production at wideout.
I am 100% sure they did not trade for him expecting that he'd average 1.5 receptions and 22 yards receiving per game with 0 TD's.
