Talk about 1st world problems. Of all the things to worry about in life that isn't even in my top million.
then why are you wasting your time in a Hawk forum?...go do something useful
Uh because I like NFL football and don't see the point in crying about what day they play the games. You guys are the ones that should be boycotting the forum as a way to formally protest the unspeakable crime and atrocity of Thursday night football. lol
You guys?

The solution seems pretty simple: have 2 teams coming off a bye play on thursday nights. Is there some reason why they can't do that?
No byes at the beginning and end of the season and they use some of the bye weeks for the international games which is silly because the flight from the East Coast to London isn't much longer than the flight from Seattle to Florida. You would think they could do it to some extent but they don't seem to bother.
I'm sure they could get by with 14 Thursday games and the 2 London games.

Still don't mind Thursday games:
“We definitely have a routine and a real clear process to go through to help the players be ready and recover from the Sunday game to get ready to play football,’’ Carroll said.

That process has proven pretty well-tested — Seattle is 8-1 on Thursday night under Carroll.

Exactly what that process is, though, Carroll said he’ll keep a secret.

But whether it’s simply that Seattle is coming off a solid win while the Rams had a shocking home loss to Tampa Bay on Sunday, or the Seahawks’ Thursday night history, bettors in Las Vegas jumped quickly on the Seahawks on Monday.

After the Rams were installed initially as 1½-point favorites, most lines had moved in Seattle’s favor by Monday afternoon with Seattle as much as a two-point favorite at a couple of sportsbooks.

Loving Clowney more every week:
Clowney didn’t practice or play games of any kind from early January to early September because of his holdout with Houston until the Texans traded him to Seattle Sept. 1. So he’s fresher than most players. He intends to use that to his advantage on the short turnaround Thursday.

“Quick turnaround, knowing guys are going to be beat up, coming into that game feeling beat up, just trying to come into that game real physical with the guy (opposite him),” the Seahawks’ prime pass rusher said.

“I like short weeks. I don’t mind them.”

Yeah, loving Mr Seahawk himself, Bobby Wags even more. You'll never will the TNF argument dude, but just keep banging that drum over there! I'll bet it's even easier to game plan and prepare on three fewer days - said nobody ever. "lol!" :P

It's well documented the players hate it - everyone knows this. Cherry picking a Clowney soft sell is hilarious, though. What about Bobby Wagner? I winder if his opinion matters?

Bobby Wagner on having to play Thursday night games: "Would we like it to change? Of course. Will it? Probably not." #Seahawks

Like I said it is not ideal in terms of player health but acting like they are being savagely tortured against their will because they only get 97 hours of rest vs. 133 hours of rest after a Monday night game which nobody has ever complained about once in its almost 50 year history is hysterical.

Here is some more cherry picking from some QB:
With all the time he spends outside of game planning, film study and practicing between games, when does Wilson’s body usually feel healthy enough to play again?

“I feel great by Thursday, to be honest with you,” he said.

Then he smiled.

“So, good thing the game’s on Thursday,” he said.

That was the consensus day the Seahawks veterans The News Tribune polled informally in the locker room said was the first day they feel up to playing again each week after Sunday games.

I just happen to agree with him...
"You know how I feel about Thursday night games," Gurley said, per ESPN. "I feel like they are the dumbest thing ever."
Then the players shouldn't have agreed to it in the CBA.
The CBA was five pages long. The first page simply said "you will make more money and practice less". The next four pages could have said they had to cut off a foot when they turned sixty and they would have signed it. Seriously, they got fleeced...but they got a larger salary cap and less time to actually work on their craft, so they were all for it.

All this worry about Thursdsy night being a lesser product. The entire season has been a lesser product because its week five and they still don't have the practice time they used to have by the second pre-season game. But let's cry about two teams having a short week!

exactly, there are all sorts of things, that in my mind erode the product. I didn't bring up player health in the first place, but that gets to be the debate, that its debatable seems to me reason enough not to bother with it. I do not see any reason for having games on Thursday. 'For me its just another money grab that as far as I know erodes the product.
