Poll: Walker or Shaheed

Walker on when he decided he wasn't going to play in Seattle any longer. The guy didn't want to play for the seahawks, all this angst over a guy that didn't want to play there

"If I'm being honest, probably sometime during the season," Walker told Florio. "Things didn't work out how I was expecting them to, and that's alright. It worked out for the team. But yeah, sometime during the season. And then we get to free agency, and you're pretty much knowing you weren't going to be there."

That just sounds like the words of someone that was butthurt that he wasn't offered a big contract by his former team. He also said this right before the Superbowl...

“I've been here four years, so you know I've gotten to know a lot of stuff about Seattle, and you know a lot of the city, and I feel like they feel good about me as well,” he said. “So if it was my choice, though, I'd definitely stay.”

The reality is that none of us knows what he was thinking leading up to free agency. We do know, however, that the Seahawks weren't interested in paying him his value on the market because they didn't make on offer prior to the FA period, didn't attempt to match KC's offer later, and opted not to use the franchise or transition tags on him. Instead they decided to offer Shaheed a contract larger than what Walker got from KC.

Yeah, it wasn't about walker or Shaheed. It also wasn't about ways to have kept walker. Walker didn't want to be a Seahawk, hard stop

Of all the other signings/extensions that they prioritized above keeping Walker, the contract they offered Shaheed stands out because it was for a similar amount and same number of years, and his value was mainly as a special teams player. Had they signed Walker, it is my opinion that they wouldn't have made Shaheed that offer and that it was the most questionable one they made.

In any case, i never stated it was an either/or scenario for the Seahawks. I am simply posing the question "who would you rather have?".
