Lock is good enough to lead this team to a .500 record.
I love your confidence, but he wasn't good enough to take the Broncos, who EVERYBODY says had a better roster (except me, I didn't see it), to a .500 record. In fact, he wasn't good enough to beat out the guy that took them to 7-10.

I hope you're right, and Pete can fix what went wrong with him, but his year 2 and year 3 performances show nothing to indicate he's an NFL starter.

Geno Smith is a roughly just-sub .500 guy, IMO. Not good enough to win games on his own, but good enough to keep us competitive. If Lock is good enough to beat him out, then maybe you're right. I don't think he is... but I worry they're going to give him the starting job to find out.
Yeah I can see your concerns but I am sticking with my New Year's revelation to be more positive about things. :)
Me too. Sure, let's wait and see, but I really think that Lock could end up performing quite well in an established nurturing environment. It's all about dynamics... if Lock feels comfortable, he should be fine. I don't think PC is going to overload him. That said, I hope he doesn't completely limit him either. As Gametime mentioned, wait and see.

Here's my only complaint about the draft.

Seattle now thinks they can punt 2022 and go get a franchise QB in the draft of 2023.

The only problem with this in my mind is DK's attitude. We've all seen how he acts when Russell couldn't get him the ball for extended periods of time. Do you think DK's attitude is going to get any better with Geno or Lock trying to get him the ball? I am imagining a ton of football games with DK sulking, complaining, being pissed off and do I dare say it....giving up on a game when things aren't going his way.

I think this is a powder-keg waiting to explode........

check DK's numbers in the Geno Smith games -they were his best games. Plus, let's say DK gets pissy and demands a trade. It at least gets us another high draft pick and saves $25million in cap space (using AJ Brown's new contract as comparison). That could get us that franchise QB. Personally, I'd trade a franchise WR for a franchise QB all day, every day.

Yep was just going to say that. DK even made the comment after Geno finally threw him a nice Jump ball for a TD that it was the first time it happened. Maybe DK forced RW out! LOL

I think Seattle will be the long-range winner of this trade. Denver still has to give Wilson a new contract and that is gonna be ugly.
A motivated Wilson never carried Seattle to a Championship, he rode the coattails of the defense, but that is not taking anything away from his contributions, which were definitely significant and appreciated.

This is what Donkeynation is in for... it's just so cringe....

Yeah. Just so cringe. Somewhere I was reading something about Wilson and the poster said "...Wilson was too busy doing his 'look at me' videos...." and I thought - that perfectly nails RW. Gotta wonder if DonkeyNation is clueing in yet. On one of their SB Nation posts about the draft, I posted "y'all better draft a good punter, cause RW is the master of the three and out and the crushing third down sack..." Didn't get many 'likes'

And wasn't Drew Lock a first round pick? I realize he hasn't panned out, but it isn't like one of the rookies was going to come in here this year and lead us to the playoffs.

Seattle used the actual ninth overall pick to select Mississippi State offensive tackle Charles Cross.
I wonder if this will be lost on Russ when after he signs his Mega Deal in Denver they can't pay O Lineman to block for him, oh, and don't have any picks left either!
