This next week-end looks like a slam dunk. The choke-artist Rams versus a team that owns them, and the Chiefs with Mahomes in juggernaut mode versus a decent but not-ready-for-the-show Bengals unit.

Chiefs and 49ers in the Bowl. I guarandamntee it.
Oops.

My miracle win was due to Stafford > Jimmy G and the Rams awesome HFA. :) Also, I figured that weird 49ers winning streak over them had to end eventually. Happy about the AFC but never seriously considered the Bengals winning in KC with a 2nd year QB with an actual HFA.

The first three quarters are what I thought would play out. If Tart hadn't gone full out Jamal Adams on the INT, I still think the 49ers win that game. That was unbelievable. Hit him right in the damn chest!

Even worse. Hit him in the Hands! Then Ramsey did the same thing. Its like these guys have NEVER tried to catch a football in their lives. Tantamount to missing an unguarded dunk.....And of course the D line man in the Bengals game makes the game changing pick no problemo. lol

This sums up the difference between me and Salk as humans:
Here is my problem with guys like Salk. You can't use an event that happens one week as proof for your debate, then ignore it when the VERY NEXT week? The opposite happens.

They have now had 12 OTs in the playoffs with this format. Just less than half the time the team who lost the flip got the ball back. I texted Salk that last week. Said "you are using this 10 and 1 as your proof, but it is only 7 times that the other team didn't get the ball. If the next two go the other way, it will basically be fifty fifty. He of course, didn't respond.

If you give NFL QBs the ball at the 25 like in college? Every OT will end with someone dropping a two point conversion. Yeah, how cool....watching a game come down to which team fails going for two...a play that works only about half the time. Why not just go to Vegas and play War, or simply cut cards? Hell, if that is what we are going to do, don't play at all, just flip the coin and who ever wins wins! That is fifty fifty also!

If both teams are guaranteed a touch, as was mentioned earlier this week, the team that doesn't get it first then has the advantage, because they know exactly what to do. When teams actually come out and play defense? THEY have the advantage because if they get it back, it is usually just a couple of first downs to FG range.

Salk can't use one even as his proof, and then discredit it when the opposite is true....especially the very next week!

Yep, nothing worse than doubling down in the face of contradictory evidence yet that is what people do the VAST majority of time. I had no problem reconsidering my position. Bengals played better D than the Bills and are going to the SB because of it. I have seen the light! :)

I get that it is Twitter, and it is all about making a bold statement in a few characters, but the timing just felt bad. I am sure he will spend most of the day on his show defending his stance today, and that is fine...but that Tweet looked bad, IMO. Like, hey, ignore the proof statement I used last week, since it doesn't prove my point this week!

He easily could have said this system still needs tweaking, but instead basically just pounded the table and demanded that his point is right. He doesn't have a better solution. As I said all last week....play a full 15 minute quarter and someone is still going to complain because one team got it twice and the other didn't. Imagine if the Chiefs force a FG yesterday, and the NFL decided that OT was another quarter. The Chiefs could have taken the ball, drained the clock and won on a TD. Would that have been fair? Hell no.
