Re: Woolen's Future (or lack thereof)
I'm reading a lot of chatter that they are also high on McIntosh and Halani. Pair those two with the bruiser they got from Green Bay? Again, why is it that anyone is doubting this organization and it's ability to find talent right now? The hilarious thing is, usually I'm bitching about what we didn't do and everyone is giving me reasons to stop complaining. This organization told us that a new offensive coaching staff and a Rookie Guard were all we needed to improve upfront. I called bullshit. I was wrong. Who's to say they aren't going to be even better up front this year?
I am willing to be if you scoured the game threads, some of the same people pissed off we didn't open up the purse strings for Walker spent a TON of time complaining about his style and inability to get on the field. Maybe this gamble doesn't pay off, but Super Bowl teams don't get to bring everyone back. That's just the way it works. Pete convinced John to continue to keep the band together. That turned out poorly.

Re: Woolen's Future (or lack thereof)
If Shaheed gets back to his 5 receptions a game production up from 1.5 he had with us he will be a hell of a bargain.
If they can cobble together a RB room with 3rd and 4th stringers, a guy the Packers sent packing for nothing and a day 2 or 3 rookie draft pick we will be set.
Let us know when we can can ever question any decision again. Seems there was some wise criticism of draft picks VERY soon after we won our first SB. I guess that shouldn't have been allowed on a sports forum.

Re: Woolen's Future (or lack thereof)
The key is adapting your approach to your talent. It's not about trying to fit talent to your scheme, it's adapting schemes to your talent. That was the strength of bill Belichick. He could roll out different types of teams depending on his talent. I see that sort of quality in MM. He's not the defensive minded coach that going to doggedly stick to a formula. Seaside keeps pointing out the focus continues to be who left rather than who they retained. You have Rasheed rather than Walker. There's purpose to that, they gave it some thought. I really would not be surprised to see the ratio of pass plays to run shift next season.
Re: Woolen's Future (or lack thereof)
Yeah I am sure they put some thought to it. But I have also heard a lot about a team's identity from MM. Hell I will be happy as hell to see more go routes to Shaheed and more of a modern passing attack but that would be a massive shift by a team that just won the SB with their run first philosophy. Is this new OC more passing oriented than Kubiak?Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Mar 18, 2026 9:16 pmThe key is adapting your approach to your talent. If if that is the case that at least need a mid running attack to keep teams honest. Believe me I am not worried the offense will suck but JS definitely opened himself up a bit with Charb missing most of the season. Oh that's right he is a pro and magical healer. lol

I'm not saying he's turning into Dick Vermeil. You want Rasheed to get 5 shots a game, where are they coming from? Taking them away from JSN? The knock on PC was an inability to adapt to the offensive talent they added. Let's see what MM can do. They've added an explosive WR and deducted a quality RB
Re: Woolen's Future (or lack thereof)
They retained him and deducted K9. I think he will be far more involved in the passing game though.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Mar 18, 2026 10:01 pmI'm not saying he's turning into Dick Vermeil. Terms of charbonnet, it's not about being a miraculous healer but the degree of the injury. I was thinking maybe a partial tear as opposed to complete, but looking at it some more I don't think that's the case

Rasheed needs to be integrated into the offense. Pete didn't seem particularly successful at that when they added Harvin or Graham. So we shall see what MM comes up withD-train wrote: ↑Wed Mar 18, 2026 10:08 pmThey retained him and deducted K9.
